An incredible ice cream and sorbet spot that’s always busy, right in the center of Paris.
If you’re looking for the best ice cream and sorbet around, you’ve found it here. It’s a classic place that has been around for ages, and deserves to be. There’s absolutely always a line out the door, and it’s completely warranted.
The main part of the shop is essentially just a walk up, and there’s also a second room now that had table service. The design and ambiance is upscale traditional, with beautiful wooden walls. The staff is extremely friendly and let you take your time, even when they’re busy.
They have an extensive list of extremely high quality flavors that are all delicious. From fruity flavors like grapefruit to rich caramels and nuts, they’ve really mastered it all. Everything is so flavorful, creamy, and smooth, and absolutely not too sweet. Scoops are small, but prices are reasonable for the quality.
I make sure to always swing by whenever I can, and...
Read moreThis review is for the cafe with sit down service. The premises are small with limited tables, though interestingly the queue moved much faster than waiting for to-go. Service was professional with clean decor. My sundae was excellent with a half container of raspberries placed above and below the whipped cream, more than generously provided. Pistachio decorations a nice touch. Chocolate ice cream was rich, cassis and raspberry sorbets intensely tart, vanilla had nice floral notes. Coffee rounded out the degustation nicely, flavored with excess whipped cream. Yes, this place charges a premium for its location and fanfare that’s turned it into a tourist destination, but the ability to sit down and enjoy a rest before exploring the island, visiting Notre Dame and strolling the Seine offers a special value. And ice cream is excellent. Plus you can say you’ve been there.

Read moreI ordered a triple scoops of ice-cream and chose cherry, chocolate, and strawberry. However, it was served incorrectly as coffee, chocolate, and strawberry. I informed the staff that the wrong item was served. A new icecream was served again, but they just scooped out the coffee flavor from the originally-served ice cream and put the cherry in it. It seemed, during this process, the chocolate ice cream underneath had melted a lot. Even the coffee ice cream was left inside, ruining the taste. It was annoying when the coffee flavor entered my mouth unexpectedly. It is possible for the staff to get the order wrong, but the process for correcting it is unprofessional. The staff said it was to keep the ice cream that was originally served from being thrown away, but why should costumers pay full price for a substandard product? I strongly request that they make it again from the beginning if it is served...
