Breizh Café Batignolles | La Crêpe Autrement — Restaurant in Paris

Went two years back and found the food mediocre. My wife is really into Brittany crepes and wanted to go there today for lunch, we called them. They said they would not take a reservation but to come anyway in 30mins, she told the restaurant that we had kids with us so to make sure to keep a table aside for us, they said ok. We took a bus through a heavy thunderstorm and reached there on time, as planned. When we reached they told us too bad, they gave the table away and it was our fault as they don't take any reservation. There was actually another table available but refused to give it to us as they said that this specific table was reserved (to their friends I suppose). The manager told us to come back in another hour and 30 minutes. Showed no concern for the kids whatsoever and sent us back rudely to the street and the cold thunderstorm. Will...

We really enjoyed our dinner at Breizh Cafe Batignoles. It was a chilly evening but we chose to sit outside which gave us an up close experience in a noisy Paris neighborhood removed from the tourist areas. The buckwheat galettes were delicious, creative and very filling. Mine had raclette, pork belly and potato and my husband’s included duck, cheese and other goodies. Unfortunately, we had no room left for dessert. The crepes sounded amazing. service was welcoming and well done. It was fun to watch real Parisienns going about their evening. I’ve had crepes before, like in French class in high school, but this…this…C'est Magnifique!

Technically a galette due to it being buckwheat, these extremely light but rich savory dishes were probably the gastronomic highlight of Paris for me. We are three different ones: 1- a chorizo and cheese with an over easy egg on top (like a light, rich pizza, but way better) 2 - mushroom “roll” (same matériels, different shape) 3- the highlight, the Browned Butter Gallete for desert.
