I can confidently say it was one of the most delightful hotel experiences I have ever had. From the moment I arrived, the level of service and attention to detail exceeded all my expectations.
The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect. Nestled in a charming area, it offers easy access to some of the most iconic sights and vibrant neighborhoods of the city. Despite being centrally located, the hotel provides a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets, ensuring a restful stay.
The staff at Hōtel Astoria - Astotel are exceptional. They are warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. Whether it was providing excellent recommendations for local dining or assisting with transportation arrangements, their dedication to service was evident in every interaction.
The rooms are elegantly designed and meticulously maintained. My room was spacious, bright, and beautifully furnished, with a comfortable bed that guaranteed a great night’s sleep. The modern amenities, including high-speed Wi-Fi, a well-stocked minibar, and an immaculate bathroom, added to the overall comfort and convenience.
One of the standout features of Hōtel Astoria is the complimentary afternoon snack bar. This thoughtful touch offers a delightful selection of beverages and snacks, available throughout the afternoon and evening. It’s the perfect way to recharge after a day of exploring the city.
Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight. The buffet offered a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. Starting the day with such a satisfying meal set a positive tone for the rest of my stay.
In conclusion, Hōtel Astoria - Astotel combines prime location, exceptional service, and comfortable accommodations to create an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city, whether for business or leisure. I will definitely be returning on...
Read moreWhat a CRAMPED hotel. The main elevator is a tiny little shoebox, and it requires that you open a whole separate door to get in and out, which is extremely difficult to do on your own with any sort of luggage. The elevator is also, as to be expected, very slow.
The hallways are also fairly narrow and honestly rather claustrophobic. Two people wouldn't be able to stand astride.
The rooms range from small to large even for a single person. The outlet placement in the rooms make no sense - no outlet in the bathroom for a hair dryer or iron and random outlets underneath the TV. I guess they renovated but didn't update the outlets at all. There were only USB outlets on one side of the bed, and USB outlets plus regular outlets on the other. Only one bedside table.
The bathroom is disproportionately small compared to the largeness of the room in my case. The bathtub was so narrow that even I, a petite woman, would bump into the sides while turning around. If you're an even remotely full-sized adult, it will feel cramped, and it's even more of a tripping hazard than you might expect, because you're constantly slipping against the sides and the raised drain of the tub.
The location is also... eh. I heard from French acquaintances that the area isn't the safest, but more than that, it is not particularly close to any major stations. Other Astotel locations are within walking distance of places like the Louvre, but this one... has nothing really. In my case, I was regularly walking almost 10 minutes to the main train line I needed.
Breakfast was meh. I feel like there were a lot of egg for some reason, which I understand is a very common breakfast food, but some more variety would have been nice. When it is busy, there will be no plates or cups until you hail someone down to have them restock, because nobody seems to check or notice...
Read moreOn my first day of check-in, I had a very good impression of the hotel. The Reception staff warmly welcomed me and explained the hotel’s features in detail. They showed me how to use the free snack bar in the lobby, informed me of the breakfast price, and guided me to my room. They also mentioned that the in-room minibar would be refilled daily and that showing my hotel card at partner hotels would allow me to enjoy free coffee and similar beverages. Additionally, they kindly reminded me that the elevator requires manually opening the door, and when they noticed I was unsure how to use it, they assisted me directly.
When I first went upstairs, I found my room key card might not have been activated, as the red light appeared. I returned to the Reception, and the staff promptly and patiently resolved the issue. Overall, the service on my first day left me very satisfied and even genuinely happy about my stay.
However, on the second day, my experience was disappointing compared to the first. When I returned to my room, I saw that while the room had been cleaned, the minibar had not been refilled as promised. I went to the Reception to request water, but was told they could only give me one small bottle, as they needed to consider all guests. They advised me to go to the lobby snack bar myself if I needed more. I explained that my minibar had not been refilled, but the response did not address the issue.
This left me feeling particularly disappointed. Minibar refills should be part of the service included in my stay. While I could go to the lobby to get water myself, it took extra time and effort, which I felt was an unnecessary inconvenience and fell short of my...
