I’ll start with the pros: good location, close to Moulin Rogue and surrounded by cafes and restaurants. A metro station is right outside of it. The rooms are clean and they are constantly cleaning.
Cons: you are handed just ONE physical key (not a card). So if I wanted to go out separately from my friend we had to coordinate. It’s also a pain to carry around. The stairs- we were on the fourth level and the elevator is one of those old fashioned ones where you close the door yourself and it’s tiny- two people max.
Service: twice we called down because we ran out of toilet paper (it’s industrial grade looking holders with no back up roll provided and no way to see when you’re going to run out) and both times the lady working at the front desk said she would send some and she never did. We waited over 30 minutes once before calling back and she responded it was coming and the second time we waited 10 minutes before calling again; both times she said it’s coming but it clearly wasn’t and we had to go up and down the stairs to find the cleaning crew to grab our own toilet paper.
Also, one night I was heading out to a cafe at around 10 PM and the man at the front desk put a sign on the door that said “be back soon” and had locked the door! So no one in the hotel could get out and vice versa. This is a fire hazard and extremely inconvenient. Luckily I discovered on my own another door I could unlock to leave.
The rooms are small but the two twin beds worked for me and a friend. 20 minute metro to Eiffel Tower and the...
Read moreMy friend and I stayed at this hotel for a girls trip and the man who worked at the front desk was very disrespectful and extremely hostile. There was a part of the stay where we felt very unsafe and worried about our stay there. ||||On one night we had gone out, we returned around 9:30 pm to find the front lobby doors were closed shut with no way for us to enter. Admittedly, this was our first time in France and we did not know if this was customary or not. We panicked and began knocking on the doors repeatedly and calling out, for fear of being locked out all night. This mentioned man came and yelled at us, “I heard you the first time!” he continued to berate us was very hostile. This same man interrupted our breakfast in the patio the next morning when one of us was on the phone, and told us to hang up because “he was trying to work.” I have NEVER been to a hotel in a European or Asian country where they tell you this while you’re in a public space of the hotel. One would think that I was yelling, but no, I was speaking in a normal tone. It was such a rude and disrespectful intrusion . Less than 5 minutes later, the wifi was turned off and the call disconnected. We payed our money to use this wifi and it was purposely disconnected in spite. This man singled us out and approached us in a threatening manner that no hotel attendant should ever do to a guest. If I could, I’d get a refund for this place. I would never recommend for anyone to stay...
Read moreThis hotel is simply perfect for whoever needs a place to stay at while visiting the city of Paris It offers nice and clean rooms (they aren’t big but if you need the hotel only to sleep and have breakfast/dinner it’s fine), a common room with tables and chairs for eating, a coffee machine with many different options and tea machines, all for free There is a small kitchen with an oven, a microwave, a water heater, cutlery, cups/mugs and dishes You can bring in your own food and eat it there The rooms are clean and tidy, with soap both for the shower and for the sink, and the beds are super comfortable The staff is one the nicest I’ve ever met: they all speak French and English, and are available for anything 24 hours a day They offer you to keep your luggage when leaving or while waiting for the room: it’s free and in a very safe room behind their reception desk Our room has been cleaned every day, and we’ve been given new towels every morning The boulangerie in front of the hotel (Passionnément Arthur) is very good and has honest prices for both savory and sweet food The hotel is near (about 3 minutes on foot) to Place de Clichy metro station (on both lines 2 and 13) and, despite its not being in the city center, it only takes about 20 minutes to reach the main places of interest The neighborhood is lively, full of different restaurants and nice spots for a coffee and safe for any...
