I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mamma Primi, an Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Paris, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that exuded charm and comfort. To kick off my evening, I decided to indulge in their refreshing Apple Spritz mocktail, and it proved to be a perfect choice. The crisp apple flavors combined with a touch of fizz provided a refreshing and invigorating start to my meal. Mamma Primi's attention to detail was evident not only in their culinary offerings but also in their mocktail menu. For the starter, I couldn't resist trying their cauliflower dish with yogurt sauce an a pinch of seed pesto, and it surpassed all expectations. The cauliflower was skillfully cooked to perfection, boasting a slight crispness that added a delightful texture. The accompanying yogurt sauce with the pesto provided a creamy and tangy complement, elevating the flavors of the cauliflower to new heights. It was a unique and scrumptious dish that left a lasting impression. Next came the main course—an extraordinary lobster risotto. This bougie delicacy was an absolute showstopper. The risotto was expertly prepared, with every bite bursting with the rich and savory flavors of the tender lobster. Each spoonful was a symphony of tastes and textures that delighted my palate. Mamma Primi's lobster risotto truly exemplified the art of Italian cuisine at its finest. And finally, the grand finale—a gigantic profiterole adorned with a lavish amount of luxurious chocolate. This decadent dessert was a sight to behold. The choux pastry was light and delicate, filled with a velvety cream that perfectly balanced the sweetness of the chocolate sauce. It was a heavenly combination of flavors and textures that left me completely satisfied. Throughout the evening, the attentive and friendly staff provided impeccable service, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with its warm lighting and tasteful decor creating an intimate and inviting setting. Mamma Primi is undoubtedly a restaurant I would highly recommend to anyone seeking an extraordinary Italian dining experience in Paris.

I like to give good reviews (check out my reviews) however..... I travel a great deal and always make a point of trying to eat where the locals do. This simple approach always works for me, however on this occasion I was disappointed. Mamma Primi, do not take booking on a Friday night, there is far too much demand. They have 2 sitting one at 19:00 and one at 21:00, as a consequence you have to queue outside to secure a table. The queue caught my attention so I thought this must be a good place. Once you queue, the very nice lady on the door will take your name an estimate a time to return. Our party of four where told to return in 45minutes. The system worked and in 45 minutes we had a table, albeit outside. Outside seating in winter if protected from the cold wind and has additional heating and blankets. A significant negative however, is that Customers can smoke, so if like me you are a non smoker you take your chance. The staff where attentive, friendly and efficient. The table setting simple and adequate. The menu was easy to follow even if you can't speak French and Italian. Overall the meal was disappointing. The Pates la fameuse was cold, the pizza "Love it when hot" was non descript and the portion of Pates be lusgnocchi was on the small side. My Pate burratelli di Leonardo came 10 minutes after everyone else and was not cooked (Hard pasta) The staff apologised for the delay, but after waiting I was sorry I chose this restaurant. That all said, I will return and give them a second chance.

Their menu changes but here are some things that stayed: Their delicious tiramisu (Il tigramisù). MUST ORDER!!! The mascarpone is soooooo smooth, fluffy and creamy. The serving size is great for 2 people. Prosciutto di Parma DOP 24 mesi: YUMMMM! So good on the baguette. La fameuse pâte à la truffe: the truffle pasta is their most popular dish according to the waiter. Not a huge truffle fan here but the sauce is nice and creamy and each strand of the past is very looooooooog. Other dishes we had that is not on the menu anymore but worth mentioning: Plin alla coda vaccinara: little mini oxtail ravioli-esque pasta, good but a little salty. The Hottest Pizza Alive: actually not that spicy! Very very mildly spiced. TRY THEIR PIZZAS, the crust is 💯! Bottarga Veneta: cod roe pasta, this was REALLY GOOD! probably the best pasta dish we’ve had Le beef, c'est chic: beef tartar, very nice! It’s very good on top of the baguette. We also tried their virgin cocktails, they have fun ones. Tip: make a reservation, it does get pretty pack for lunch. Ignore the sign at the front door and walk in if you get there by noon. We stood there waiting thinking they would come out and seat us but nobody came out, it seems like they forgot they left a sign out there!

Where to start! If you are looking for some of the most authentic and delicious Italian food, you need to come here! For starters, the burrata (in its largest format) was so creamy and fulfilling. Cutting into it with a knife and seeing this magnificent cheese ooze out was mesmerizing. Pasta, freshly made, and incorporated with ingredients that showcase their flavor was to die for. The truffle pasta, which is served in a sauce pan, was amazing and filled with so much umami flavoring. Wine selection was great - waiters were well informed with flavoring profiles and helped recommend something to our liking. Cocktails, very creative with glassware and garnish, was good but, personally, lack that great complexity. I would recommend sticking to either beer (one blonde draft by Paname Brewing Company) or the amazing selection of wines they cater to the food. The dessert, a bit in the sweet side, was absolutely amazing and definitely contributed to ending the night feeling extremely filled! Overall, it was a great experience with very educated servers, and the food was above expectation! (Would really recommend having a reservation to ensure seating)

A little off the tangent eating Italian in Paris but I had a craving for pizza. A party of 4 took 45 mins for a table but I saw plenty of couples got in before me. Service was prompt and friendly even though they did not speak English. Their menu changes and I did not get to try their Nutella crepes posted by previous reviewers as well as the carbonara looking pasta. I had the duck pasta, the broccoli pasta and of course the pot of lovely truffled pasta. It was lovely. The pizza bread was extremely soft. Everyone loved the truffled flavored mushroom and cheese laced topping. The tiramisu came in an entire tray and the servers will heap it into your plate. Though generous, the tiramisu was uninspiring. The decor and the seating were comfortable with just enough space for traffic. Overall, if you are sick of French food. This is the place to go for Italian. Though owned by a big conglomerate which I noticed was shunned by a group of reviewers, they were a young and energetic team willing to make a difference in traditional Parisian restaurant etiquette and service. Bravo.

Just okay, but I expected it to be amazing based on the reviews and the long queue outside before they opened. The queue was for people with reservations, mind you. I sat at the bar as I was solo. No big deal. The barman was friendly and attentive. I'd hoped for some advice about what to order as it was my first time there. He mentioned a bunch of dishes, but I cannot say he gave any advice. Same with wine. I had the focaccia to start and the rabbit as a main. Focaccia was tough, as if it had been microwaved to melt the cheese. Still, the flavors were okay. The rabbit was fine, nothing special. I feel like I should have just gotten the pizza or the truffle pasta they are "famous" for. But shouldn't every dish be excellent? To finish I had the tiramisu. It was good, the best dish of the meal, but it was not enough to bring me back. Sorry guys, you missed the mark. 3.0 stars because the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant and the dessert was good. In terms of quality meals I've had in France I rate it slightly below average.
