【Paris】Top Italian Restaurant 🇮🇹 Picks

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mamma Primi, an Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of Paris, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that exuded charm and comfort. To kick off my evening, I decided to indulge in their refreshing Apple Spritz mocktail, and it proved to be a perfect choice. The crisp apple flavors combined with a touch of fizz provided a refreshing and invigorating start to my meal. Mamma Primi's attention to detail was evident not only in their culinary offerings but also in their mocktail menu. For the starter, I couldn't resist trying their cauliflower dish with yogurt sauce an a pinch of seed pesto, and it surpassed all expectations. The cauliflower was skillfully cooked to perfection, boasting a slight crispness that added a delightful texture. The accompanying yogurt sauce with the pesto provided a creamy and tangy complement, elevating the flavors of the cauliflower to new heights. It was a unique and scrumptious dish that left a lasting impression. Next came the main course—an extraordinary lobster risotto. This bougie delicacy was an absolute showstopper. The risotto was expertly prepared, with every bite bursting with the rich and savory flavors of the tender lobster. Each spoonful was a symphony of tastes and textures that delighted my palate. Mamma Primi's lobster risotto truly exemplified the art of Italian cuisine at its finest. And finally, the grand finale—a gigantic profiterole adorned with a lavish amount of luxurious chocolate. This decadent dessert was a sight to behold. The choux pastry was light and delicate, filled with a velvety cream that perfectly balanced the sweetness of the chocolate sauce. It was a heavenly combination of flavors and textures that left me completely satisfied. Throughout the evening, the attentive and friendly staff provided impeccable service, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with its warm lighting and tasteful decor creating an intimate and inviting setting. Mamma Primi is undoubtedly a restaurant I would highly recommend to anyone seeking an extraordinary Italian dining experience in Paris.

I like to give good reviews (check out my reviews) however..... I travel a great deal and always make a point of trying to eat where the locals do. This simple approach always works for me, however on this occasion I was disappointed. Mamma Primi, do not take booking on a Friday night, there is far too much demand. They have 2 sitting one at 19:00 and one at 21:00, as a consequence you have to queue outside to secure a table. The queue caught my attention so I thought this must be a good place. Once you queue, the very nice lady on the door will take your name an estimate a time to return. Our party of four where told to return in 45minutes. The system worked and in 45 minutes we had a table, albeit outside. Outside seating in winter if protected from the cold wind and has additional heating and blankets. A significant negative however, is that Customers can smoke, so if like me you are a non smoker you take your chance. The staff where attentive, friendly and efficient. The table setting simple and adequate. The menu was easy to follow even if you can't speak French and Italian. Overall the meal was disappointing. The Pates la fameuse was cold, the pizza "Love it when hot" was non descript and the portion of Pates be lusgnocchi was on the small side. My Pate burratelli di Leonardo came 10 minutes after everyone else and was not cooked (Hard pasta) The staff apologised for the delay, but after waiting I was sorry I chose this restaurant. That all said, I will return and give them a second chance.

From the moment we stepped into Mama Primi, we knew we were in for a treat, but nothing could have prepared us for the culinary delight that awaited us. The star of the evening was, without a doubt, the truffle pasta and truffle pizza, both of which were simply out of this world. The pasta was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of truffle oil to enhance the flavor without overwhelming it, while the pizza boasted a crispy crust and a generous topping of the most aromatic truffles we've ever tasted. The balance of flavors was impeccable, a true testament to the skill and care that goes into every dish at Mama Primi.

Our experience was made even more memorable by our server, Antonio, whose knowledge and passion for the restaurant's offerings were evident in his recommendations. He guided us through the menu with the expertise of a seasoned connoisseur, ensuring our selections perfectly matched our taste preferences. Antonio's attentiveness and genuine warmth added a personal touch to our dining experience, making us feel truly valued.

It's rare to find a place that delivers not only on the promise of exquisite cuisine but also excels in service, making every guest feel special. Mama Primae does just that, with its exceptional truffle dishes standing as a testament to the culinary prowess of the kitchen team. The truffle pasta and pizza are not just meals; they are an experience, a celebration of flavors that linger in your memory long after the last bite.

In a city brimming with dining options, Mama Primi shines as a beacon for those in pursuit of culinary excellence. Thanks to Antonio and the entire team, our evening was nothing short of perfect. For anyone looking to indulge in the finest truffle dishes the city has to offer, look no further than Mama Primi. A truly five-star experience in every sense...

The food and space is amazing just like all other big mamma group restaurants having been in pink mamma, Ave Mario in London and jacuzzi they really have the formula nailed where food is well priced and really tasty. However I must say I am someone who works in restaurants for the last 13 years I have never ever seen a more atrocious waiter in a restaurant. From being rude to my partner when she was asking a question, to making comments to his colleagues because we asked for a change of plates after starters to main course and to end it all I had a note as a birthday on the reservation and it seems like they just don’t care. I’d love to have the waiters name that served us because this person should never work in a restaurant in his life and should be taught some hospitality etiquette. And is absolutely normal for someone to ask for new plates after having a beef tartare to having pasta not to mix up the flavours of the cutlery it’s again basics of hospitality. We went to celebrate a birthday and mid way through the dinner we just wanted to leave for how rude this waiter was. Mamma primi you need to train your staff a lot better and maybe educate them than customers asking questions is a normal thing and asking for few things here and there also. Having been in other restaurants of the branch and have never in my long years on the industry given 1 star for service you were a really atrocious restaurant for service and for who reads this unless you like to be treated as someone who goes there to spend your money I would never go back again....
