Café Ella — Restaurant in Paris

We visited this café yesterday and ordered the brunch menu, which included two pancakes, two avocado toasts, a matcha, and a latte. The iced latte tasted a bit strange at first, so we asked to have it changed. The replacement was simply coffee with milk, which was not the best.

However, a couple of hours later, we both started feeling unwell with nausea and ended up vomiting. We called the café to check, without accusing, whether it could have been related to the food (perhaps the egg, the milk in the pancakes or coffee, or the sauce in the salad). Instead of showing concern, they denied any possibility that it could have come from their products.

What disappointed us most was not even the denial itself, but the lack of basic courtesy: on the phone they didn’t even say “hope you feel better” or show any kind of empathy. We found that really impolite and unwelcoming.

Heard about the brunch from others so a friend and I decided to try! The service wasn’t bad, but the food was lacking. I ordered Avo toast and my friend the eggs Benedict; nonne of the poached eggs were runny, but fully cooked and also oddly really small? The potatoes were good though... We both ordered the fruit pancakes and I went to eat some apple slices from the top and underneath was a hair. I waited and told the serveur, he said nothing, just walked away and came back with the exact same plate. The Apple still had my fork marks in it. They literally just took the hair off, put on more whipped cream and brought it back. That to me was disgusting. All in all the brunch was very disappointing, there’s better...

I am really disappointed. We went for brunch on Sunday and when we arrived there we discovered that the café has specific hours for breakfast, brunch and lunch but it is not written somewhere. We waited 20 minutes to order as the waitress was ignoring us and was replying to me with a very aggressive way every time i had a question. After 20 minutes, another young waitress came and took our order. We waited 50 minutes for our food that never came and we left without eating nothing as we were about to lose the flight. I really have no comments and the problem is that also other people left without eating due to this...
