My recent visit to Kohyang left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I sensed judgment from a non-Korean waiter who scrutinized my friend and me from head to toe. It looked like he was trying to figure out where we were from. Even though we made it clear that there were two of us, he just ignored us and acted like he didn't get it. We tried FOUR times to talk to him, and he responded in English at the end. Even though we were the only ones waiting to be seated, it was so strange how the waiter couldn't understand simple french such as “deux personnes”
Once seated, the bad treatment didn't stop, as this waiter kept ignoring us and chatting with other tables nearby. It was only when a Korean lady came and assisted us with our order. Our main courses came without the side dishes, and when we asked for sauce and extra items, we had to wait even longer. This whole experience left us feeling really frustrated and annoyed.
I felt like the waiter was discriminating against us, which made this the worst dining experience I've ever had. My friend, who was with me, wasn't Korean or French, but we both felt like we were treated unfairly. I hope that management will take my comments seriously and address these issues to make sure that all customers are treated with the respect and professionalism they deserve!
After reading your reply, I must express my disappointment with your attitude as a restaurant owner. I want to clarify that upon entering your restaurant, we greeted with "Bonjour." Also, we did not raise our voices at anyone. I am very distracted by your distortion of the facts. As customers, we understand what it means to be busy and when we're being intentionally ignored. We never believed we were more important than others. All we sought was equal treatment. A simple apology would have sufficed! Thank you, but we cannot take the risk of returning. No, we have decided never to come back, and we will share everyone we know about...
Read moreFound this place by chance. It was first experience of Korean food for me and my wife and I can say, that we were lucky to try this food here and enjoyed our dinner a lot. First of all, as newcomers, we asked waiter what we should try and it was best choice. Unfortunately I have forgotten names of dishes, but in such places is to ask what best dishes to try. Liked experience a lot. Enjoyed that meat was cooked in front of me and all the entremets we received. Taste of some probably could be to spice for unprepared person, but I liked everything and meat was superb. Also enjoyed a talk with owner after our meal, it was really...
Read moreA good selection of dishes on the menu. We ordered the pancake thingy, some side dishes, and a hot-pot with squids. The food was reasonably tasty, but nothing to be excited about. The broth/soup-base of the hot pot could have been a tad flavoursome I supposed, but I am not a Korean food expert; so maybe that's the style? THere were quite a few Korean people in the restaurant, which is often a sign of good restaurant; so maybe we ordered incorrectly :-) But the cold noodle isn't too to our liking, I thought it would taste a bit like Japanese cold soba, but...
