La Chaufferie — Restaurant in Paris

Comfortable and nicely fitted out restaurant The staff were very friendly and left us to our own devices and didn't crowd us but we're there when we needed them. Lovely staff.

The food was OK. Great chips. The fish batter was a bit heavy. I had the burger with comte but there was a curry pickle sauce, or something like that, on both the top and bottom bun and I couldn't taste any other part of the burger, which looked fabulous, because of that overriding flavour. I may not have read the menu properly but I didnt expect it and it was disappointing.

My only major complaint was the toilets. They have no seat and it doesn't even look like the seat had come off, it just didn't seem to have one at all. It was really unpleasant and disappointing.

Despite that this is a very nice place to sit in Paris, close to Gare du Nord and not a rip off like some of the places in the area. They do a lovely Bloody Mary presentation with all the elements on the table for you to mix your own....

Amazing experience here! Our waiter was great and very personable. The service was prompt. We sat down around 23:15 and we were still able to order food. I ordered the thai noodles with chicken satay and my friend ordered the beef tartare. My thai noodles were great and the chicken cooked tender with a nice crispy outside! The beef was also delicious and perfectly spiced. I also ordered a piscine of the chardonnay. It was very good as well. The ambiance is great with ample outdoor seating and the rest of the restaurant is essentially open air. Its open later than many other places in the vicinity so if you want a late night dinner it’s definitely a go-to....

we have had a terrible experience here, first of all we (three girls, tourists) could not choose where we wanted to sit and the waiter was very mean to us. they were bringing the glasses and a free bottle of water (like you normally get in France). right before our face, the boss told the waitress to put the water bottle away so we just got glasses, while other people at this place did get water. we were treatened unequally. when we ordered, we had to wait too long for the water (where we paid for!!!) and the food was not like it was described. we felt really scammed (because we were three young girls?!) never go to this place, not...
