Absolutely would NOT recommend this disaster if a restaurant. They took our order, brought us drinks for two hours and then admitted they did not submit our food order— with no explanation and no apology. We were not rude, not loud, basically quietly waited for food for two hours and we finally inquired if our food would be coming when they let us know they failed to put in the order. Not once did they update us or inquire how we were doing. We had two small children with us who were eventually crying because they were so hungry and they simply delivered the check and said they were sorry they forgot to put our order in. They did say they could try to get the children’s food in (after two hours) but let us know it would take an additional 30 minutes so we politely declined. Read moreJust a quick stop for a drink and a break from a full day of walking all of Paris led us to La Gentilhommière after a walk through the Latin Quarter. The place wasn't particularly full at the mid-afternoon time we arrived so we were seated right away.
I had a kir – a mainstay French aperitif made of white wine and creme de cassis liqueur. It did the job and was as good as any other version of this drink I've head elsewhere in the city.
Our server didn't seem particularly happy to serve us but he did the job.

Came back two minutes later to ask again what the order was. 15 minutes go by and he brings us our drinks with a check for a 4 person meal. Pass another 5 minutes until he comes back. I show him the bill and he takes it back. I ask if the food is ready soon and he asks me what food it was. I tell him again and ask if it's ready soon to which he answers that the food order hasn't been placed yet and explains to me that it's not his fault because there was a mix up in the kitchen.
