La Petite Auberge — Restaurant in Paris

My visit was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The food was top-quality, with every dish showcasing the rich, authentic flavors of traditional French cuisine. You can tell a lot of care and love went into each: It felt less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a warm, lively family home. The vibe was cozy and inviting. The service wasn’t just attentive, it was genuinely funny and full of personality, turning our meal into a joyful and silly experience we won’t forget. They were also very kind to us Canadian tourists.

Amazing little restaurant! Depending on the person at the door, the welcoming can be pretty French (sarcastic and slightly offensive humour) but it's only a test, a facade! Below this first layer, you discover a big warm heart made of not-so-simple tasty dishes and passionate waiters. Meat quality is great, the average wine in pichet is round and friendly, only the fries could be better. We went thrice in a week and loved to talk to other customers (lots of them are regulars). Went to this location twice. First time we arrived at 10:30 pm... we were turned away. Fair enough. Second day, we arrived at 8:00 and very few people were in the restaurant. We were asked if we had a reservation, of course we didn't. We were turned away again. We asked the woman at our hotel if this was normal, and she said no.... that restaurants in this area don't take reservations.
