This restaurant was somewhat disappointing. Having lived in Argentina, I was eager to rediscover the authentic flavors of its celebrated cuisine. Unfortunately, the empanadas, a staple in Argentina, did not live up to expectations. The excessive use of paprika by the chef was perplexing—it was sprinkled all over and on top of the dishes, which was both unnecessary and bothersome. The spicy beef empanada was particularly challenging, causing us to cough—not from the spice, which we usually tolerate well, but from the paprika dust irritating our nasal passages. The cheese and ham empanada was the most disappointing: instead of the delightful melted cheese I anticipated, it contained a stringy béchamel, and, puzzlingly, it was topped with sugar. While the meat was decent, it wasn't as exquisite as what I remember from Argentina, suffering from overly heavy seasoning and, again, too much paprika. The side dishes were unremarkable: the sweet potato purée was overly sweet, the humitas lacked flavor and texture, and I would have preferred traditional puffed potatoes over the small baked ones offered. A watercress salad would have complemented the steak better than the arugula provided. The restaurant's decor and ambiance were pleasant, though I wished for more nods to tango culture. Overall, this place might satisfy those unfamiliar with authentic Argentine cuisine, but it will likely disappoint connoisseurs seeking a genuine taste...
