One of the best meals of our trip! Le Chasseen is around the corner from our vacation rental, so we ended up there around 5:30pm on our first day, hungry and tired. The waiter was very kind and took care of us, and the meal we had was outstanding--just what I've come to expect from French cooking at it's best. The dish I had would have been worth it for just the vegetables, they were so flavorful. The waiter could tell we weren't locals, so later in the meal he stopped by and asked us where we were from. We had a nice conversation with him. It wasn't till later that I realized the restaurant wasn't really open when we showed up, but since it's a bistro and the outdoor tables and chairs were still set up from lunch, we thought it was. They could have sent us away till their regular opening time, but they didn't, and that was such a kindness. I won't forget this meal, and not only for the...

Le Chasséen was an absolute delight from start to finish. A group of eight of us settled in for a leisurely evening and were never once rushed — instead, we were treated to warm hospitality and exceptional service by our wonderful waiter, who made us feel right at home.

The food was exactly what you hope for in a classic, cozy French spot: the duck breast with pea purée and crispy vegetables was perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced; the faux filet with warm potatoes was hearty and satisfying; and the salmon with creamy mashed potatoes was fresh and comforting. We also loved starting with the chilled gazpacho and finishing with a generous cheese plate, all paired with plenty of good wine that kept us lingering for hours.

It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time over good conversation and plates that never disappoint. Highly recommend for an unhurried, delicious meal...

My wife and I only had one night in Paris and we wandered right past this place. By default it didn't show up in a Maps search for dinner spots so we almost went right by but are so glad we gave it a second look.

The owner could sense our confusion looking at the menu posted outside and offered to translate for us, which was so helpful. The food was fantastic: seasonal fresh dishes (we had the scallops and the lamb) prepared with a fine dining finish, that were paired with a great wine that went great with both.

We spent so much time gathering recommendations and researching restaurants while planning our honeymoon through most of Italy and Provence, and a little French bistro we wandered into on our last night was by far the culinary highlight....
