Le Gavroche Bar à vins — Restaurant in Paris

I recommend Le Gavroche to anyone visiting Paris. Off the beaten tourist track this restaurant is a real gem. Traditional, home-style cooking with everything that the French menu has to offer, twinned with a cozy cottage-like atmosphere. The service is not exceptional (typical Parisian) and the place does get quite noisy, but that is only to prove that it is very popular, mostly amongst Parisians and other temporary residents - like us. This is, by far, one of the best restaurants in Paris. Affordable, unchanged in years, and with an efficient staff, this place serves up some of the best, classic French dishes. That means that you can get goose rillettes, board terrine, steak frites, celerie remoulade and many other delicious dishes. And while the place isn't exactly cosy, and quite busy, it is well worth it. They have their own table wine and lots of fresh bread. And try to make room for dessert if you can....

Worth a visit, even if just for the atmosphere. We found the restaurant on our last night in Paris when out for a long walk through and area and in the passages. Come early if you don't have a reservation for dinner as the restaurant can fill fast. The food was great - we tried a selection of a few things and enjoyed them all.
