Within the Accor chain some hotels outperform while others underperform. This hotel clearly is in the second category. ||On the day of my arrival and holding a non refundable booking made through their website, I received an emails:|Please confirm you are arriving and we must have your bank card.|I have elite status with Accor, made the booking through the app and they have all the needed info. The email was all about them hoping to resale my room at a higher rate.|It was not polite, in French only and out of order. ||On arrival the clerk failed to focus on serving me, and started talking to another customer, who tried to barge in. I was also informed that they were full and busy. While they felt that was of any interest to the customer I am not sure.|It was 2pm and I am used to getting my room whenever I turn up in recognition of my loyalty. I was told to leave my luggage and return.|I explained that I spend 35 days or more a year with Accor and expect the loyalty to be rewarded. That was ignored. I repeated myself firmly but correctly and lo and below my room was ready.||Later spoke to other staff members, whose skills may be valuable, but do not lie in customer interaction. ||The building is run down, the room is small but acceptable. ||Location is great.||I normally use Astohotel in Paris, but needed this visit for the points. Read moreThe Mercure Paris Opera hotel is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Paris, near the iconic Louvre Museum and Galeries Lafayette. As a traveler, I was attracted to this hotel because of its central location and its modern design.
Upon arrival, I was pleased to find that the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the room sizes were on the smaller side, but still adequate for a single traveler like myself. The hotel also offered a comfortable lounge and an on-site restaurant.
The scenery of Paris from the hotel's windows was breathtaking, providing a picturesque view of the city's skylines and landmarks. The hotel's proximity to the Louvre Museum and Galeries Lafayette made it effortless for me to explore the area's top attractions.
Unfortunately, the food and hospitality were rather mediocre, and I did not feel like I was getting the best value for my money. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was intermittent and the rooms' temperature control was inconsistent.
Overall, the Mercure Paris Opera hotel provides a decent stay in the heart of Paris, with friendly staff and convenient access to major attractions. However, the small room sizes, mediocre food and hospitality, and intermittent Wi-Fi leave something to be desired. For travelers like myself who value quality and authenticity, I would recommend considering other options...
Read moreMy reservation at Mercure Opera Louvre was made under the impression it was a hotel, but it appears to be an Airbnb like facility.
I have several concerns about my stay at the Hotel, which is advertised as a 4-star establishment with Airbnb/apartment like facilities: I saw many hairs on the bedsheet. As you mentioned that you change bedsheet not before 3 days so these must be previous guest hairs. The mattress was so uncomfortable that I could feel the spring. I had sleepless nights.
The room size is unusually small, even for Paris, suggesting it's more aligned with a 2-star hotel. The service is more akin to an apartment than a hotel. For example, I was asked to replace used coffee mug by new coffee mugs from the lobby. If guests are expected to perform such tasks, an apartment would be more cost-effective. Reception area had only 2 chairs. Other than your room nothing is there. Breakfast was so limited and left over croissants they put next day. I ll not recommend anyone to stay there. One more thing you better book from trip sites not from Accor sites so at-least trip like MMT and all they ll help you in these kinda situation. If you book with Accor thn its like to whom...
