I was really looking forward to this restaurant visit. I looked the place up on Instagram and checked out all their beautiful pictures there – I was amazed… until I got there. We asked for drinks and waited 50 minutes to get them. We had to ask the waiter THREE times inbetween. They hadn’t told us which plates wheren’t available on that day. I chose a kind of oysters, the waiter told me they weren’t available that day, so he recommended another (more expensive) kind. Fair enough, I said, let’s try. Then I asked for the lobster as main course (which I was really looking forward to and basically was the reason I booked a table at the restaurant in the first place), the waiter said it wasn’t available as well. I mean, it’s no problem, but why don’t you tell me the moment you bring the menu? So I got the duck instead and the oysters as appetizer. The oysters arrived before my water. I was long finished with my appetizer before the drinks arrived. My duck and my boyfriend’s steak were really good, so no complaints there. But we asked for bread and a ketchup a couple of times before we decided to just let it go and ask for the bill, which was about 70€ for 3 oysters, 2 main courses and a water… but ok. 24h later I had to go to the HOSPITAL for food poisoning – guess what.. the oysters the waiter recommended. I have been sick for 2 days straight. So it’s definitely a 0 star review for me (if it was possible…) but since 1 is the minimum, i’d give the star to the location and the main course. But never again, sorry but I was so disappointed. Maybe I was...
Read moreThis restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It is over 100 years old and should be treated with the respect that it’s history deserves. Unfortunately it currently isn’t. The layers of dust around the backs of the tables was the first sign that the current management could care less about the place. When we asked our server questions about items he said it’s his first day working here and had no idea and had to ask someone else. These red flags should have made us walk out immediately but based on the reviews we wanted to give it a try…. Huge mistake! The mussels were horrible… I could have made them better myself at home and I have no culinary experience. The pictures and video show what my napkin wiped out of the bread basket… brown , black and green… colors you should never see associated with something that touches food you are supposed to eat. The mussels had almost no broth, so the mussels had absolutely no flavor… honestly beyond disappointed about this experience. i sadly would compare the quality of this restaurant to a truck stop diner in America. Shame on them for neglecting this beautiful establishment. Shame on them for serving food and drinks in a way that can only be described as unsanitary and unacceptable. Service was horrible. Food was horrible. Ambiance was horrible. Dim the lights… light some candles or something to make it not seem like a shopping mall. If they ignore such basic details and cleanliness in the front of house I am scared to imagine what things look like behind the scenes in...
Read moreVERY DISAPPOINTING AND UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF I do not recommend this place because the staff was very impolite to one of the people i was with. We left another restaurant because we were told that this one was great but when i went there, the attitude of the staff was disgusting. When people take a meal an tell you they want to share it, in a NORMAL place they would have brought you the meal on two different plates, and when the waiter brought the food and my grandmother told him that they said that they would share it he said: I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO CUT IT FOR YOU. He didn't even bring another plate. That is NOT the way you have to talk to elderly people. The other bad thing about this place is that when people order an appetizer and a meal you have to bring the appetizer FIRST and THEN the meal, they are mot supposed to come at the same time, that is very unprofessional!! The bad thing is that they treat tourist in a different way, they think that they can fool them and that...
