An unassuming eatery in a very cool street. This restaurant serves honest, tasty, unpretentious french food and the best sangria I've ever had. Very reasonable prices. Service was a bit lacking but nothing to complain about. I had duck with some sort of foie gras mash and gravy (amazing), boys had steak- both the scotch and cheaper (porterhouse??) both great. But whatever you do DO NOT order the andouillette 5a!! I ordered this for my 10 yr daughter - wasn't sure what it was so googled it, Google summary said "traditional French coarse-grained pork sausage" - daughter loves sausages so I thought - great that'll do! Big mistake!!! If I had read further - andouillette is made from pigs colon and intestine - it smells and tastes like pig's bum (I'm not exaggerating at all). It made us all gag and has been a family joke ever since!! Our fault - don't order anything you don't know. Mind you the waitress could have warned us when we ordered it - she knew it was for our daughter. Anyway stay clear of the andouillette (unless you like chewy pig's colon) and you'll have a...
Read moreThis place is a exceptional and represents a certain idea of French culture. It is located in top of the Butte aux Cailles on its main street. The place itself has no frills but holds such a special atmosphere that you won't find many other places. The servers are to the point. They have been here for a while and are not taking any nonsense. Personally, I find that it adds to the character of the restaurant. The food is delicious, usually traditional, fares and served in good quantity. The prices are quite good. This is one of my favorite places in the city but understand that some people may not find it to their taste. To these, I would suggest to come with open...
