For an unforgettable date night, visit the good people at Mala Boom! From the start, we felt welcomed (even though we speak little French), our host took his time in explaining the concept to us (reminded me of a Mongolian Grill, but extremely elevated), as well as the different starters. We went with the potatoes, and the fuzu with cilantro, both incredibly flavorful and unique. In fact, Mala Boom specializes in unique (and BOLD) flavors; from the peppercorn-infused syrup used in the gin cocktail, to the yogurt-flavored ice cream (NOT to skip), everything is truly memorable. We chose to go with level 3/5 spiciness with caution despite loving spicy food, and I think next time I'd go lower! Not because it was too HOT necessarily, the spicy level is more of an indication of the level of peppercorn spicy (I think) instead of chili, and it was definitely peppercorn forward. Nevertheless, I'd absolutely come back for the fresh ingredients, the impeccable service, and the unique experience. Thank...

We found Mala Boom while we were looking to try something new, different, and spicy. It exceeded all our hopes and we will certainly return for a delicious bowl of spicy Sezchuan inspired food.

The menu is simple, with a single primary dish (mala xiang guo) where you select from a variety of meats and veggies to get mixed in a wok with a delicious mala-based sauce. There are a few other items and sides, but mala xiang guo is the reason to come.

The spice level can be ordered by number from 1 to 5. The dish is generally built for sharing and the bowl gets 90 grams larger for every ingredient you pick. With that in mind, we ordered a spice level of 2 as a group despite my own love of extremely spicy food. The waiter was happy to provide me with some hot sauce on the side to satisfy my own cravings. I wasn't disappointed by level 2 though, it was delicious and had a surprising amount of spice for a restaurant in western Europe.

I recommend to try the Sezchuan Gin...

I had amazing fun in this restaurant!! It's a whole experience and everyone needs to visit it once.

We started with a drink and they had good options for cocktails! I took Spicy Ice tea and it was very refreshing!

Then we moved onto the starters and they were very original and very well made! I had a happy surprise with the tofu skin starter!😍

The main dish is something that you need to choose carefully at least your spiciness level. We chose level 3 and it was perfect for us! I really enjoyed the tofu, the rice noodles and the rice cakes!! All the other ingredients also jelled well with the spices! You can hit the gong and get your picture on the wall of fame if you finish level 5 spiciness!😅

We were greeted by a spicy shot at the end of our dinner! Again a happy surprise!🔥

Would recommend to go with some friends or a partner as the dish is better enjoyed when shared (Asian culture)!❤️

Also do visit the washroom it's a fun...
