Napoli Caffè — Restaurant in Paris

We arrived and waited 5 to 10 minutes and nobody came. In the meantime a couple arrived 5 minutes after us, they are very quickly seated and the menu has already been brought to them.

At this point we had to stand up to signal that we were there but we were told that we had not been noticed, there were 5 tables occupied no more on a large empty space where the waiter is able to see all the customers who occupy the tables.

We had to leave because ethically speaking, we didn't feel like spending our money in a place where we didn't feel welcome from the start, especially in these difficult and unprecedented times where restaurants closed for two years are going bankrupt and people are unemployed and losing jobs. We stopped by this cafe on the way to a bar, we ordered a spritz and a beer. The owner told us in advance that she doesn’t have a licence to serve alcohol without food so she would give us a little snack with our drink (like they do in Italy, inferring it was a free addition). We were given a little cold piece of bread with a tomato on top, what we thought was a nice little addition was actually 10 euros extra to the bill (5euro each)! This place is really delightful. It doesn't have an overwhelmingly large menu but it does have a lot of variety for a decent price. Portions are correct and the cafe is really good. The staff is really friendly and pure Italian, which adds to the authenticity of the place. They also speak English. Really good specials that are filling as well!
