Nick Clark Hairdressing — Local services in Paris

Heartbroken to see my partner's self-esteem and confidence shatter after our appointment with Nick Clark. All my partner wanted to do after the appointment was hide, buy a hat to cover his hair, and have no photos taken for the rest of our trip in the beautiful city of Paris... no one should have to feel like this after seeing a professional hairdresser. My partner's personality has completely changed from being outgoing and bubbly, to being so sad, so defeated, and extremely self-conscious. This isn't how we wanted to spend our Christmas holidays.

My partner asked to have his hair bleached and coloured to silver/grey. I should note that his hair has never been coloured or bleached before. It's his first time getting his hair coloured professionally and it ended up so uneven, brassy, and not at all close to what he wanted...

Where do we go from here? Are we going to trust another hairdresser to regain his confidence? Spend hundreds of euros to fix this mess? Do we shave it all off? Dye it back to his natural hair colour?

I also had my hair styled and curled with reassurance that my hair would stay styled for days - it fell flat and straight within hours of the appointment.

We appreciate that Nick did his best and was kind during the process. He took €30 off the original quoted price of €160 after my partner expressed it wasn't what he asked for. Perhaps it was a one-off situation and of course, everyone makes mistakes, even the most seasoned professionals. However, it was still a negative experience for us especially as University students on a budget looking to change up our look for the first time.

I am delighted to add a review, somewhat late, as I saw Nick towards the end of October 2022. I was very happy with both the haircut and the keratin conditioning treatment, which I received, from him, making me feel a much happier person when I went out, than when I entered the salon!

I was happy to find someone like Nick, trained by Toni and Guy, London, in Paris, particularly as it meant that there were no unexpected, or unpleasant, surprises. Nick is a sympathique person and although I am happy to speak in French, it was relaxing to be able to talk in my 'langue maternelle'!

I enjoyed chatting with him. He definitely ticks all the boxes - as he is skilful and his confident and expert style of haircutting is exactly what I was looking for/needed. As an older lady, it was good to be listened to and to receive the cut I wanted, that was not ageing.

I will definitely book an other appointment to have my hair cared for by Nick, next time I visit Paris.

Friends, with whom I was staying, commented very positively on my new haircut, which made me even happier!...
