It was good but nothing really special. I was really looking forward to coming to this place and I purposedly chose to go on a Monday to avoid crowds. I arrived at 10.05 (it opens at 10) and was told they'd need another 10-15 minutes to open up. it's not particularly busy at 10.30 on a Monday morning but still the young waiter seemed overwhelmed and just didn't pay attention. First of all, he left the main door ajar and it's 5 degrees celsius outside. Second of all, i heard the cook ringing the bell to let him know my order was ready. he was too busy chatting with a regular at the cashier and just ignored it for a while. the cook had to ring the bell another time and I ended up eating my eggs benedict cold... It's not the end of the world but I can only imagine the kind of service one must get when it gets really busy. the food is good but i'd rather stick to the other neighbourhood favourites where the food is of the same level but the atmosphere is cozier and service is more...
Read moreThis is a great spot for a quick brunch with a lively atmosphere. While the seating isn’t the most comfortable or ideal, the overall vibe and energy of the place more than make up for it. The menu is simple and straightforward, which makes it easy to choose. I recommend sharing as many dishes as possible. I was especially curious to try their highly acclaimed Pastrami Sandwich but was equally tempted by the breakfast bun, which is essentially a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. The Pastrami Sandwich had good flavor, but I found it a bit too dry for my taste. I think it could have used a bit more pickles or perhaps a touch of mayo to enhance the texture and flavor. On the other hand, the breakfast bun was well-balanced overall, though the bacon was a bit salty and ended up overpowering the eggs’ flavor slightly. All in all, this is a fun and vibrant place for brunch. Despite minor issues, the experience...
Read moreAt Paperboy, everything looks and feels like natural and fresh, from the boxes of fresh fruit at the entrance to the light wood tables and chairs, the pastel colors painted on the walls and the healthy-oriented menu. A nice effort has been made with the interior that is clearly inspired from the Scandinavian decoration style. For our lunch, my friend and I took the soup of the day (made with green peas), a ginger juice and a special-fish plate served with a nice mix of salads and greens. The menu also offers a pretty large selection of sandwiches, salads, bagels, hot plates and healthy juices – not to mention the number of brunch options available on weekends. Staff people are very friendly and their look bring a ‘hipsterish’ touch to the place. There is no doubt, we are definitely in the 11th...
