The cuisine is composed of several sequences inspired by Japanese know-how and French terroir, and we have fun connecting these two worlds thanks to this incredible drink that is sake.
Restaurant ERH
Ryuichi Utsumi first started with Japanese cuisine by working in his native country in the world of sushi. Then wanting to diversify, he studied French gastronomy and decided to settle in Paris. With his knowledge and the diversity of his knowledge, Ryuichi Utsumi's cuisine is unique and will transport you between France and Japan. Read moreVery good restaurant but for the price and standing, there is much better in Paris. The decor is very nice, minimalistic but gives you a cosy-classy feeling, and the personalised welcome message at your table is a great touch. However, there are several things that made us not thoroughly convinced compared to the several high standing and one star tables that we tried: -they kind of advertise themselves as a Japanese-inspired restaurant, but in the end the food is not really Japanese inspired and the selection of sake is quite small (although good) -the service was not perfect: they proposed different options to different tables (the table beside us was offered to have caviar and we were not) and the way to eat the plate (e.g. the orders in which you should eat appetisers was reversed for the table beside us and for us). We also requested a wine accord and the waitress said someone was going to come and speak to us about that and nobody mentioned it again for the rest of the dinner -Most receipes contained some food that did not have synergies between one another. All ingredients were very good stand-alone but some overpowered others when mixed together which is not in my view the objective of a 1 star cuisine -lastly, the food was quite expensive, as we paid 350€ for 2 menus and 3 glasses of wine/sake (total, not each). It is not unheard of but for this price you would be better off going for example to The Kitchen Gallerie or Enyaa or Kei (3 stars, we paid the same and the food was much better) if you want Japanese inspired food or even L’orangerie or L’oiseau if you are more into French food. Bottom line, it was not a bad experience but if someone was looking for something fancy I would not recommend, there are better...
Read moreI had dinner with my partner here. I start with positive points: The staffs were dedicated and doing their best and designs were good. The disadvantage was that at the end of the 7 dishes (maybe around 60gr of food per dish), you had hardly 30 gram of protein which is your essential amount of protein intake per 3 times you eat. Instead most first ingredients composed of carbohydrates and fat. Also from 4 glasses of alcohol that we tried only 1 red wine “pick saint loup ermitage “ was good (not excellent). For the rest, the wines and sake tasted like very very cheap quality which was surprising because they were priced above 14 per glass. Also, though everything in cooking was correct, it lacked something in tastes… I cannot tell specifically what it was. Lastly, adding to all that has been said the fact that no used first ingredient in dishes was specifically expensive, I expected a pricing of about 100€. Also, for water were charged an additional of 5 euros… Also, up to the last moment it wasn’t transparent how much we are spending or no menu was provided to list the first ingredients of dishes. If I rate from 0-100 I would go for 60-70%. As ratings between 3-4 aren’t available I am rating them 3.5. If you not at all on a budget, want a good organization nice vibe and do not mind paying Michelin money for a correct (not excellent ) tasting food and drinks, you can try this place for a good night. I hope the people who run the place do not mind my review as I sincerely hope it helps them also to improve their...
