Episode — Local services in Paris

Looked like a good selection of clothing so we decided to go in and browse. The salesperson asked me if I needed help when I was in the section with shirts etc and I said no thank you as that was an easy space to browse without assistance. My sister and I started looking at the jeans which were all folded on the wall shelving and the salesman came over and basically yelled at us “you can’t touch these, there is a system, you need to ask for help” and “these are too small for you” and took the jeans I was holding out of my hands. I said I wanted to look anyway “okay but these are too small” alright bro…nice way to assume my body size…I gave them back and said we didn’t know we needed to ask for help as there were no signs or information…I decided to leave as I like shopping to be a pleasant experience. We were on holiday and prepared to spend money…so I don’t really understand this attitude towards us. Is it because I responded in English? Sorry I put a pair of jeans on a table and not back on the shelf, geez 🤦‍♀️ I got a hasty “au revior” as I left. An experience which left me upset. Not recommended...

I like this shop but unfortunately I have to leave one star…. I bought two items before their closing time and the staff didn’t get rid of the Anti-theft device, and I have to go back to Berlin on the next day.

So my friend helped me get the device out because I am not sure when I will be back in Paris.

And now the clothes has very obvious damage.

I really like this piece but because of this incident, I don’t know if it’s a good choice to buy this piece. Thus kinda leave me a bad...

A thrift store that I want to stop by every time I’m in Paris from now on. I bought a jean jacket from here that I love. It might be a slightly crowded store but it’s well organized and it’s got plenty of options and rotates out items every once in a while.
