I saw Le Richer listed on Michelin guide as being a restaurant that served food all day on Sundays and confirmed this on Google and by their website. I was very excited to try this restaurant and upon arrival I was informed the kitchen had closed, but they would still serve drinks. I was surprised as this was contrary to all that I'd see online and being taken aback, I replied that I'd sit for a moment at one of the open tables and would decide on a drink while figuring out what to do for food (the entire restaurant only had 3 guests and there were many many tables open). The server approached me again and said " I can see on your phone that you're looking for another restaurant to eat and you can't sit here and do that" - I said that I wanted to order a drink and I'd only be a few mins while I tried to find a local place to eat, since they had closed the kitchen, and the server replied - "no, you cannot sit at our restaurant and search for another place to eat"...I was shocked and appalled at the poor attitude and service - I rely on the Michelin guide for guidance as to the very best food, service, and atmosphere and couldn't believe a Michelin guide restaurant would have such awfully mannered servers. I was truly disappointed and in disbelief as to the utter rudeness of the service staff and couldn't believe they were looking over my shoulder to see what I was searching on my phone..unbelievable. I can't speak to the food, but with so many other Michelin options in the area, I'd reccomend you do as I was forced to and move on to another..If their lack of customers and number of open tables is and indication, they may soon need to change the name from Le Richer...
Read moreI have been coming back to this place since it got its first review at le Fooding many, many years ago. But today it’s and end to that. We were visiting from abroad, it was our last night so I wanted to try everything in the menu. We were three, and we ordered 4 plates. We nearly ate everything but left some bits and pieces.
I wanted to order desserts. This server came and asked if we wanted to take the remaining food on a doggy bag. We were leaving next morning so I said no. It was then the server refused to serve us dessert. He said “since you left food, it means you are full, so I wont sell you dessert. This is wasteful”
I was dumbfounded, wondering what was happening. The franco-german couple next to us also left some food, they had no trouble ordering more.
Well, we are people of color so having white men lecturing us isn’t anything new. What I am saddened is that this server effectively ruined all the happy memories I had in this place over the last 10 years.
It’s a pity I couldn’t get their dessert one last time, because it is pretty good. But I will never...
Read moreCould call this review ‘The Waiting Game’, in both senses of waiting: time wise and tables. After a very pleasant experience at Richer several years ago, we decided to return. It was a disappointment. After getting the entrees very quickly after ordering, we had to wait almost 1,5 hours for our mains. Two of the four dishes were served cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. After waiting for more than an hour again, at which point the kitchen was already cleaning up but still without any sign of our desserts, we asked whether they would still be served. It appeared that the order didn’t go through to the kitchen, at which point we decided to leave without having had dessert. No apologies from the waiting staff, who seemed to have a difficult time staying on top of things. Sadly, the dishes were nothing special, in both the sloppy and uninspiring presentation and the pretty average taste. Let’s hope it was...
