Please note that is not a review for Seeklo, but for some restaurant called ‘Mehfil’ that has been operating at this location. The branding, google maps listing, interiors and exteriors of the restaurant all indicate ‘Seeklo’ - but this is not the case.

As a regular visitor of Seeklo for a year, I wanted to bring my guest here to try its rather unique offerings - be it the winter mushrooms, kerala fried chicken, or the very creative cocktails. I did not know that I was in for a disappointment - and quite frankly, a catfish situation - until being handed the menu.

I last visited Seeklo at the end of Sept’25, when we were informed by the staff that it would be closing down for some reason. Seeklo then put up an instagram story a few days later, informing that they are open again. At no stage was it indicated that this is no longer Seeklo but some generic Indian restaurant called Mehfil instead.

Seeklo’s website is still operational and shows this address. I made a reservation on their Seven Rooms link - again, none of this indicated that this is Mehfil instead. In fact, unless you walk up to the restaurant and have a look at the dimly lit menu pasted at the door (with its generic design and food offerings), there is no way to know you’re being misled - this almost feels like a prank.

As a regular, I did recognise Seeklo’s staff but upon entering the restaurant, I did not see anyone from before. This somehow did not set off any red flags.

I then had the gross misfortune of being greeted by the manager, who bore a rude and slimy attitude from the start.

After being seated, we saw the menu and saw what the tables around us were eating. As opposed to the innovative offerings of Seeklo, we now saw generic indian food available aplenty at 99% indian restaurants in the city. Thankfully I did not order the food so I cannot comment on the taste, but it looked as unremarkable as at every other such place. Gone is the garlic confit naan and the Karikal express cocktail - we now have white rice topped with four grains of orange rice, and rose lassi.

We spoke to the manager if this is not Seeklo, and what happened to the old menu. He brashly demanded “WHAT DO YOU WANT?”, and when I mentioned the Kerala Fried Chicken, he proceeded to school me on what constitutes Indian food. This man with his inhospitable attitude took the pains to inform a clearly Indian set of customers “no we don’t have it - fried chicken isn’t really indian, is it?”

We then decided to leave, knowing that this is no longer the creative restaurant I wanted to try but basic and old-fashioned Indian food offerings I can find at all those cringe restaurants in Paris with overly exoticised and borderline offensive decor.

Anyway, if you want to have rose lassi and chicken tikka masala and all those kind of offerings, feel free to disregard my review. However, if you wanted to have Seeklo’s unique food and beverages, please BEWARE.

I am not aware why this false advertising has been allowed to go for so long. My only saving grace is I live in the neighbourhood, so I did not waste any time and energy going to this establishment. It would be quite unfortunate if someone were to travel from farther parts of Paris and beyond for Seeklo, and had to deal with Mehfil’s lies, basic food, and its brash manager.

In order to post this, I had to delete my older seeklo rating. To document the fall from grace, I am sharing the screenshot for posterity.

Please save yourself and run...

I'll keep it short - this is not Seeklo anymore, it's a restaurant called Mehfil while happily flaunting the big neon sign and ground hologram. Nowhere on their website is it mentioned that the menu has completely changed. When we made a reservation for Seeklo, expecting to eat Seeklo classics, we expected Seeklo. We instead got a restaurant with a completely different menu which you will only see if you walk up to the resto and see it in the fine print. We were greeted by a rude manager, who when asked if the menu has changed, said that it has indeed changed without acknowledging the fact that it has not been updated online. When asked if cocktails are available, he rudely asked which cocktails we wanted. When we said that we just wanted the menu, he doubled down on the rudeness. The Kerala Fried Chicken is a Seeklo classic, blending Indian and Western cuisine. But when asked if they have it, we were rudely told that Fried Chicken is not Indian (for context, we are Indian). When we said we want to leave, the manager pointed us to the door, with no justification to our questions.

Did not wait to try the food, when the staff does not want you there. We've been to Seeklo 9 times since it's opening in August 2024. Our last experience in September 2025 was the last time we visit this establishment, until there's some clarification from Seeklo about the false advertising...

I went to Seeklo for brunch, the first time I was alone, Then I came with my wife. The restaurant was full (I recommend to book, we did it through the fork). Biryani was incredible, and also the edamame hummus, first time I try something like this you cannot found this in another restaurant, very original! I have only small precautions to say about the restaurant. Inside was very hot, we had a table in the middle of the restaurant, next to the kitchen, then we asked the waitress to move us into a table near the door, was very kind! I saw several people leaving because it was too hot, even a pregnant woman with her husband We were hot, I dare not imagine the staff who worked for several hours in a row with that heat, it was much hotter than outside. As I said, this was not the first time that I came, and both yesterday is my first time in Seeklo, the staff was obviously reduced. The two boys in the kitchen ran ( the first time I sat at the bar, it was a Saturday night, and in the kitchen were 3 people. always little to my mind for the number of people to serve). the waitress seemed to be alone, except in some moments when the bartender went out to give her a hand, but he also had trouble running the bar on his own. still a good place to eat, but I hope you can work on these details to make the service top. Anyway good to the guys yesterday, good...

The service was nothing short of impeccable, standing out as some of the finest Indian restaurant I’ve experienced in Paris. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, consistently ensuring that the table was cleaned and set with precision, all while maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor. Their professionalism truly elevated the dining experience especially for Paris. As for the cuisine, the dishes were well-prepared, with excellent presentation that matched the restaurant’s trendy, modern aesthetic. Each plate was visually appealing, reflecting careful attention to detail. The flavors were well-balanced and satisfying, though the portion sizes left something to be desired, particularly given the quality of the food. A slight increase in quantity would have made the meal feel more fulfilling. Do try the Dal Makhani! Thanks for the amazing service and food! 😄🍗
