We loved this place! Very tasty selection of nouvelle central American style.
For starters, we had the Nachos and coquettes. The nachos were really very good! They had real cheddar cheese, Pico de Gallo, and a white sauce with cilantro and lime. Really very good. The coquettes were less inspiring because the "stuffing" and the dipping sauce didn't really taste like anything.
For our main courses, we had the flautas de pollo and le beouf qui saute Peruvian. Both were fantastic. The flautus were tasty, prepared perfectly and presented well. I would get them again. The Peruvian beef came in a large bowl with a lot of beef and vegetables. The flavor was excellent with a subtle spice that added flavor without adding "heat". Lots if good stuff in that bowl!
Lastly, we had churros for dessert and they were very good (if just a bit firm).
The atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable. The outdoor seating was a subdued version of what it'll look like in a few weeks once the weather gets warmer.
One other thing - the service was great. The two young men working the tables and behind the bar were friendly, always accessible and efficient. Both were multi-lingual and very friendly.
I would highly recommend a visit here for...
Read moreTalk about unmet expectations. So much for the high rating. The french fries were old and reheated. The salmon was raw and I think they nuked it when we asked for it to be cooked more. In fact, the fries were probably nuked too. The salad was a throw-away. The leaves were brown, and the dressing was horrible. The guacamole was definitely premade. But the part that gets me the worst was that the waiter asked us for a tip because he knew we were Americans and he figured we didn’t know better. It’s one thing for the food to be mediocre, but it’s another to be disrespected. We still left some euros on the table. We were going to do that anyhow. But everyone knows you don’t tip in Paris unless it’s something special and you really want to - and even then not much because the service is included in the price. He wasn’t asking anyone else for a tip... We’ve been here for two months and this is the first time we were made to feel...
Read moreI went cause I was missing home and the reviews were good but I feel it’s a really bad representation of Tulum and Latin American food. It’s 2023, original recipes are all over the internet look it up. I ordered the beef tacos in the appetizer section but was served the chili con carne which is not a Mexican dish, my ancestors would turn in their graves knowing I’ve paid that amount of money to be disrespected like that. There was no fresh salsa or a spicy one (big red flag)
I ate it all and left no crumbs but that’s not because it was good but because I don’t waste food.
It felt more like Tex Mex than Tulum IMHO.
Service was fast and the waitress was kind.
La comida súper equis, las tortillas buenas, no hay salsa picante, 450 pesos por 4 tacos de frijoles con elote 😬 El servicio bueno y rápido,...
