Great location. You have Arc du Triumph walking distance and Eiffel a short 3 metro .stops away. Mini market, boulagerie,, restaurants very close by. So location is excellent. The hotel itself is very pretty, clean, traditional style, nicely decorated. Rooms are small but good for Paris standards, still super comfortable, clean, pretty.. AC was perfect. The staff is kind, professional and courteous. They are very helpful and very attentive. We will definitely come back and will recommend to everybody. We only had one issue when sending 4 pieces of clothes for laundry , they mixed it up when delivering it to your room and we didn't get them when expected. We spent almost a day very annoyed because we were not sure we'll get our clothes back. They managed the best they could but Dominic and Soraya went above and beyond ande found our clothes after a bit more of 24 hours of waiting for a solution. Other than that all was good and we will come back for sure next year... (but won't give any clothes for laundry, unless they change the method and give the option to pick it up yourself). Still a great hotel, price is good for the area and quality, , highly recommended.(Note to hotel: it can be a difficult de step into the bathtub as the border is very high which can be a problem for senior people or people with some mobility issues, specially when you almost don't have a handle to grab yourself while you step in and out from taking a shower. Also the half-glass door is a bit annoying and dangerous too as if you use it to help yourself while going in and out of the shower can be tricky and slippery. I think the bathtub and shower system can improve, but in general it was very good). Thanks for making our first time in Paris...
Read moreWe stayed for 6 nights x 3 rooms with 8 guests.
Unfortunately during our stay, at Hotel Rochester, we contracted Noravirus and one by one gradually became extremely sick.
My teenage son was overcome with nausea and got sick in the common corridor stairwell. He came upstairs and then went back down looking for his cousins because he was in distress. He did not tell me that he was sick in the hall.
I was informed the next day of the incident (which the hotel reviewed on CCTV) and threatened with charge of 200 euro cleaning fee for the common space. Then they threatened the same charge if the room did not pass inspection on check out.
Apparently no one was paying attention to the security or safety of the guests until the next morning when they discovered the mess on the stairs.
Rather than help us or offer any support the staff, in particular, Yulia, showed us no compassion whatsoever, was extremely rude and indiscrete.
It was a very unpleasant and upsetting experience - the worst service we have ever had in a hotel. Instead of helping us with a health crisis away from home, the service team added to our misery and created a lot more anxiety and stress.
The three rooms we occupied should have been completely disinfected and cleaned which I guarantee they were not - because the hotel asked us nothing about how we were feeling what was going on. I don't think they even knew there were two parties of us and three rooms.
If their entire staff comes down with Noravirus maybe they will show a little more compassion next time to their guests and pay more attention to what is really going on in the hotel.
I was really disappointed and would give zero stars if I could. Terrible,...
