Sol Semilla — Restaurant in Paris

I usually love this restaurant (never had an issue when eating as a seated customer or picking up to-go). I've tried all their lovely dishes over the years but ,today, I must unfortunately adminisiter some tough love when it comes to the delivery service+ regularity in quality: Hopefully this is a one-off incident.

CONTEXT (1)This morning, I placed a home delivery order over an hour in advance in order to be able to eat during my lunch break; I'm on a tight schedule at work + I'm recovering from an illness that requires scheduled meals. Because timing was essential, I clicked on the Eatic app icon on Sol Semilla's website and placed my order . Big mistake. (2) order didn't arrive anywhere near the original delivery time meaning I initially went downstairs into the cold for nothing, had to contact the resto twice (in writing then on the phone)and was greeted by a very polite individual both times. He explained that their system bugged for some reason and they were apologetic all whilst "reassuring me" that the order would leave in "two minutes". 2 turned into 5 turned into more and more ultimately resulting in an accumulated grand TOTAL of 40 minutes behind the original schedule. Nobody appreciates being given empty words. I recommend simply confessing that the entire order will be way behind schedule without promising a 2-minute departure and eventually offer a small"geste commercial" (...or not because it is your perogative). But please avoid giving lip service to the client; it creates a very negative domino effect and breaks a sense of trust. Simply be honest and transparent.

(3) When the soups finally arrived, I had to interrupt a business meeting for the hand off. After the meeting, I discovered that all four soups were extremely watery and insipid compared to usual. The broth had zero umami and not hearty in ingredients as usual.This time, they all 4 of them had undetectable veggies, very few beans, grains, and herbs compared to all my previous experiences in the past. Suggestion for to- go soups. Place the powder, VEGGIES, beans, and the other ingredients in a cup thensimply Instruct the client to add hot water and stir. Att 11euros each, I feel these 4 soups were thrown together too quickly and didn't meet your standards that you've practiced in the past.

I want to keep loving this address but today you've really put a big doubt in my mind. Nobody likes to waste time to complain but it became necessary today. It is what is is but I hope to regain trust in the...

I had the best experience at Sol Semilla. The server was so lovely and made us feel right at home (you can just tell she’s a great person), and the food is absolutely amazing. Everything is vegan and gluten free, and every day they have a raw plate of the day and a cooked plate of the night with an amazing selection of customisable plant based foods. We all just went for a plate of the night with everything on it and it was SO good. Very generous portion, packed with flavour, and leaves you so satisfied without feeling heavy.

We actually started with dessert, including cake of the day, some chocolate situation, pineapple something, and a spirulina/lemon energy ball. The selection of prepared foods was maybe small and non-specific (small plate, large plate, special of the day) but delicious! We were given a complementary plate of small snacks: spirulina galettes, curcuchas galettes, dried berries (maybe acai?). Our "special of the day" was herbed tofu, brown rice, green salad with beets, and potato salad. Main meals were served with a spirulina sauce and a spicy pepper sauce that were exceptionally good. We also had the vegan milkshake that was very tasty. The shop offered larger galettes of the same kind offered as appetizers and we took some of each kind home. There were also chocolate bars made with exotic spices and amazonian fruits. I was so happy we went to the trouble of finding this gem!
