Spicy World (巴黎香天下火锅店） — Restaurant in Paris

Update: My partner and I have been feeling ill today after eating here last night. We both have sore stomachs and nausea.

Visited this restaurant with my friend in December 2022 and, having been to quite a few hotpot restaurants before in the past in several occasions, I felt this one rated poorly in comparison. Unlike other hotpot restaurants, here you have to pay for each ingredient (meat, veg, dumplings etc.) individually, meaning the price adds up quickly. We ended up paying around £50 for our meal - a large sum for 2 people - but left still feeling hungry. I didn’t feel that the meal was good value for money.

In addition, I felt that my friend and I were rather pressured by the waiting staff to choose our meal options based on their preferences rather than ours. I’m sure this was meant to be friendly but it was a little stressful.

Maybe the food is good! I didn’t have the opportunity to eat it as every time it’s mission impossible to eat at their restaurant ! They have 2 shifts one at 18:30 (who eats dinner at this time) and the second at 21:00 ( at this time you go for drinks)

They say you can book but only until 19:00. After 19:00 they do not take any reservations. I have tried to call and book but put they only open at 18:30 the line! I have tried to be there at 19:00 for 5 times I was been declined a table for 2 even if half of the restaurant is empty! Is it booked? Not sure as reservations after 19:00 are not allowed! Good luck trying...

Hot food and cold service, ironically. It was indeed a great meal since the quality of food was relatively good (the level between mediocre and delicious). Great location, and quite beautiful restaurant. Sadly the customer service did not live up to that. I wasn't feeling welcome there, even when I was clumsy, I felt judged. I understand thoroughly that it was a busy night but at least reassure customers or pretend that you're listening to the customers' wish. Disappointing, truly. I will not come back and recommend this restaurant. As a hospitality student who loves cuisine, this is the lesson I can learn...
