My wife and I ate at this restaurant a couple of nights ago. It was the most disappointing Thai meal we had ever had. Afterwards my wife wrote a review and she just received a completely untrue and frankly quite shocking response from the owner. We walked to the counter calmly to speak to the waitress. We did not block the way, did not raise our voices, and certainly did not threaten anyone. We calmly and quietly explained that the Massaman beef curry we were served was inedible — the beef was raw, tough, and nothing like what was described on the menu. To clarify we did not order a raw wok styled beef dish we ordered a massaman curry but there was no curry sauce, no peanuts, no potatoes — just dry, raw slices of beef with a spicy chili oil - see the photo. We asked for a 50% discount on that specific dish because it was completely inedible. At no point did we demand anything beyond that or cause a scene. In fact, we spoke so quietly that the customers around us could not have heard us — the claim that we caused a scandal in front of 32 people is pure fabrication.

This response from the owner is not only dishonest, it’s also an attempt to publicly discredit us for giving honest feedback. It’s clear they’re more interested in covering up bad food and poor service than addressing customer concerns.

If you’re considering eating here, I’d strongly advise caution. What we experienced was not authentic Thai food, and their response just highlights the lack of...

A hidden gem in 2eme arrondissement!

This cozy Thai restaurant is off the main road so it may not draw tourists so easily. The food made the visit worthy.

I ordered a Bobun with spring roll and beef as main, and a mango with sticky rice for dessert.

The soup base of the Bobun was surprisingly freshening and authentic, it was not the usual "cheap" artifical taste most Vietnamese or Thai restaurants serve in Europe.

The dessert- mango with sticky rice- was amazing with thin mango slices with bold and natural taste, unlike those bought in supermarket which was only sweet but nothing else. I am sure the chef has put lots of effort to find good ingredients.

Service in Thaisil was good. The young waitress was friendly and attentive, dishes were brought to the table at a decent tempo, especially when the dining table was slightly too small for the big plates (with a big portion of food too!!)

I like the cozy decoration and interior design of the restaurant. The celery green walls and lighting were comfortable for the eyes. As the wooden beams on the ceiling were preserved, they gave the place a touch of originality. As an Asian, I truly appreciate how the tasteful decoration did not overly emphasise the crew's Asian routes- no cheap replica paintings, no deliberately "Instagrammable" props... the restaurant blends into the Parisien alley nicely.

Will definitely come again during my next...

This is NOT Thai food. My friends and I were so disappointed. We came here because of the high reviews, expecting great food and service—but got the complete opposite.

The service was mediocre, but the food was by far the worst part. We ordered the massaman beef and prawn curries, but what arrived was not a curry by any stretch. There was no curry sauce—just dry, stir-fried meat with an overwhelming amount of chilli. When we asked where the curry sauce was, the waitress told us it was “the chef’s interpretation.” Sorry, but if you're going to advertise it as a Thai beef massaman curry, it should at least resemble one. And no, the beef wasn’t slow-cooked—it was thin, tough slices with no depth of flavor. The vegetables were just bland and uninspired.

The food came out far too quickly, and it was obvious why. It felt rushed, lazy, and slapped together. Everything was extremely overpriced, and the drinks were just as disappointing. We ordered a jug that was supposed to be flavored with butterfly pea, but it was just sour and undrinkable.

Just because you've decorated the place with Thai-themed decor doesn't make your food Thai. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a tourist trap. Given what we were served, the glowing reviews seem very suspicious—like maybe the owner is asking friends to boost the ratings.

We left feeling ripped off, still hungry, and deeply disappointed. Would...

This was one of the most disappointing Thai meals we've ever had. The Massaman beef curry was a complete misrepresentation. The menu claimed “slow-cooked beef,” but what we got were thin, raw slices of tough meat with no curry sauce—just an overwhelming amount of chili. There was no peanut flavor, no richness, and absolutely no resemblance to a real Massaman curry. Calling it one is misleading at best and charging €29 is outrageous. The red curry chicken wasn’t any better. It was supposed to be made with Thai coconut cream, but the sauce was thin, watery, and had a strange smoky aftertaste. Some pieces of chicken were so rubbery they were almost inedible. The drinks were just as disappointing. The butterfly pea lemonade was sour but completely flavorless. The coconut water tasted like syrupy canned juice—not fresh at all. To make matters worse, several tables around us were also openly unhappy with their meals and said as much to us directly. We’re honestly shocked by the glowing reviews—this place was not authentic, not enjoyable, and not worth it.
