Just returned after a week long stay with my husband and two teenagers at Ma Maison Sentier in Paris. In short, we enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, well appointed and in a very convenient location, only a 5 minute walk away from the metro and great streets full of restaurants, bakeries, shops and cafes. We would definitely return to a My Maison property in the future.||For those who would like more detail:||Location: very convenient. 5 minutes from metro, and fairly close walk to some major attractions (20 min to Louvre, for example). So many wonderful dining options within a short walk from the hotel (including a cute pizza/pasta restaurant right downstairs that offers terrace seating in the courtyard the hotel faces - great for quick take out the day we arrived, fully jet lagged and not wanting to sit in a restaurant yet). We really enjoyed going to nearby Rue Montorgueil, which has the oldest bakery in Paris and so many wonderful other shops, restaurants, etc. There are several grocery stores a few minutes away as well, to equip the room with snacks, drinks, etc. A lovely little wine shop in the courtyard too! ||Room: we were in room 23, which had a bedroom, living room with pull out couch, kitchen and a terrace. The room has all you could need - mini fridge, espresso machine with complimentary pods, stocked kitchen, small washer/dryer (our first time using a combined washer dryer, thankfully the room comes with a great booklet that has instructions on how to use everything!), dishwasher. The beds and pillows are so comfortable, even the pullout! The bathroom is bright and clean, with good water pressure. The room was a bit tight for our family of four, given we had the pullout couch open for the duration of our stay. It is an interior room, with windows facing the terrace that is connected to the room - no street facing windows. This kept it nice and quiet, but felt a little enclosed. The terrace itself was a nice plus, given we were kind of on top of each other in the room it was nice to be able to sit outside (we got lucky with some great weather days). We had the pleasure of running into one of the hosts on our first day and they were very accommodating with our requests for additional bedding. ||Other: there is no elevator, which we didn't find to be a barrier as we travelled with backpacks and carry on luggage. The door in and out of the hotel is set up with an automatic lock system that makes...
Read moreI booked this place thinking it was a hotel, because they had several locations, but it is just an airbnb. It was a last minute booking and in my rush to book I forgot that in central Paris there are no elevators. I immediately (15 mins after booking) called the property up to check if they could give me a room on the ground or the first floor because my mother had a leg sprain.
I was told that no they couldn’t give me a room on the first floor because they didn’t have any, which was fair. Since it had only been 15 mins since I booked I requested that they waive off the cancellation fee’s as we obviously couldn’t walk up to the third floor with our luggage’s with my broken arm and a sprained leg. This was refused downright saying it’s not in their policy.
I tried requesting that they give me a ground or a first floor apartment at one of their other locations as I was okay to do that as well. This was also downright refused because it was not in their policy.
I then received a message saying the amount that I paid would be sent to me as a voucher which I can use for a future stay. I said okay and we agreed. There was zero response after that and then after hours I get a response back again saying this voucher is not in their policy and this can’t happen.
I would understand the logic and the circumstances if I had made the booking weeks in advance. However it had been a mere 15 minutes of me realising my mistake and calling the hotel for help.
Don’t expect any form of customer service/ logic if you book with them.
Found them through a review/recommendation and will definitely not be staying or booking with them...
Read moreBeen there before 30+ years ago to visit family. This time it was as a tourist. Not going back. Once you have seen the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triumph its time to move on. I need ice every night for my feet. Try to find ice in stores in Paris. Good luck. We walked for 2 hours until we finally found some.||||What about the hotel you say. They DO NOT have icemakers in any hotel other than the high end ones. What was really aggravating was that there is a wine store about 2 minutes from the hotel that sold ice and those idiots at the front desk didn't even know it. Like I am the first person ever to stay there who asked for ice. The joke is that the front desk person told me to go there to get wine.||||And then you go to a bar and order a rum and soda. In the US that's what you get, all in one glass. Not where we went. You get a glass with a shot of rum and another glass with soda and get charged separately for both!!! Oh and then there is there restaurant where I asked for a glass of water and the waiter brings me a bottle of water on the large size and charges me 10 euros for it.||||There is more but I will stop here. I was very...
