A Taste of Mexico in the City of Lights!!!

Zicatela offers a refreshing escape from Parisian cuisine, transporting diners straight to the heart of Oaxaca, Mexico. With its vibrant atmosphere and authentic flavors, this restaurant has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Zicatela excels in delivering the true essence of Mexican cuisine. From classic tacos and enchiladas to lesser-known regional specialties, every dish is a flavorful journey. For example a must try is Pozole Rojo ❤️ The restaurant's commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients shines through in every bite. The result is a burst of authentic Mexican flavors that are both satisfying and memorable. Zicatela caters to a diverse clientele with a selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes that are equally delicious. Even if you are not vegan or vegetarian, these dishes are flavorful, The restaurant's lively decor creates a welcoming and energetic ambiance. Colorful accents, Mexican artwork, and upbeat music contribute to the overall festive atmosphere. The staff at Zicatela is known for their warm hospitality and knowledgeable recommendations. They create a friendly and inviting dining experience. I’d the pleasure to meet Pepe (proprietor of this restaurant) during one of my stops here. I was visiting from NEW YORK and wanted to really tasted the authentic Mexican cuisine that I had been hearing about in Paris. Pepe is awesome!!!

Zicatela is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican food in Paris. An unplanned pleasure! I hope I have the opportunity to visit again on my next trip to Paris!

We stumbled upon this place as we were hungrily searching the streets for a new place to eat (we = 2 adults and their child). Must admit that at first impression I almost skipped the place because I thought it was a bar. But I am so glad my wife convinced me to give it a go.

Food = Excellent! The menu screams authenticity and the food we had competes favourably with high-end Mexican restaurants we knew in London. I personally had a dish with Mole Negro sauce, which was absolutely fantastic. No food was left on the plates, I can guarantee that.

Staff = Excellent! We worked through my disastrous French skills, through a mixture of French, English, Spanish and Italian, with the three ladies in charge all helping to make sure we were all understanding each other. Truly a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that put everyone at ease.

The prices are on par with what you would expect to pay for the area, but no one left the place hungry. And I could enjoy Dos Equis beer instead of the ubiquitous Heineken, so really can't and won't complain!

In summary: if in the mood for some delicious Mexican food with a chill and fun atmosphere, and can't fly from Paris to Oaxaca, come...

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve found in Paris, so far. I’m from California, so I grew up with authentic Mexican cuisine and while there are some good, authentic Mexican restaurants, this one felt most like home, especially if you want something besides tacos & burritos. Everything we had was delicious, no weak points. The staff are friendly, the location is great during this period of outdoor dining, and warm weather, and the frozen Margaritas are KING. We had more than we could eat and still I ordered dessert to go. Only recommendation is TAMALES TODOS LOS DIAS por favor 🤣 Anyway, this...
