Absolutely awful experience overall, for a number of reasons. Unfortunately myself and my boyfriend speak very little French. We ordered in English and the waitress walked away saying “Thank you for your French!”. We ordered the Warm Goats Cheese Salad to share, to start. It came 35 minutes later, AFTER the main course of the people next to us who ordered at the same time. The goats cheese was burnt, and the salad was a strange combination of things. Then our mains came, my Chicken was stone cold and had to be sent back with our waitress, and that was the last time we saw her. She avoided eye contact from then on. My boyfriends Burger was outrageous. Burnt chips, rock hard burger bun and mushy insides that had him feeling unwell afterwards. It looked nothing like the burger that was delivered to a table near us. Our plates were more than half full when they were collected by a different server, and he did not ask if everything was okay. (I work in the service industry - if I collect uneaten food I am naturally very concerned as to what was wrong) He immediately offered a dessert, we said no and he dropped the bill to our table, without us asking. I raised my hand a number of times to get our original waitresses attention, but I was avoided, so as I walked out I approached who seemed to be the manager. I gave him a very sugar coated and polite version of what happened, he looked at me funnily and told me in a heavy accent (which he did not have when we greeted us and placed us at our table earlier) that he does not have much English, and “Oh, sorry”. Bad food, bad service and...
Read moreWe read a recent positive Google review for this place and after a mammoth drive from Geneva we simply headed here based on the review. First impressions were however not good, we were hoping for some quaint little venue in a backstreet however it turns out to be a large restaurant right on the 'high street'. We did however see huge plates of yummy looking seafood being delivered to tables and so we chanced it, and we're glad we did. The service was very friendly and prompt, our waitress even asked how our holidays were going which was appreciated, especially after 2 weeks of rubbish service in Italy! We had a mixed seafood grill, a huge bowl of mussels and some fois gras and all were very good. We saw the desserts and they looked great too, but we had no room left! Would definitely eat here again, just hope their waiting staff are as friendly to all...
Read moreA lovely experience for two Irish diners on our last evening in France. The young man who served us was impeccable in every way, une véritable star! He agreed to speak in French (something that we have found surprisingly difficult to get people to do once they hear our Irish accents). He gave us good explanations and advice when requested but was in no way "pushy." Service was prompt - not rushed, friendly, and efficient. The menu was very good and sufficiently varied. The food was very tasty, as others have described, and served in good quantity. There is a nice ambience in the dining room, undoubtedly aided by the pleasant staff. Overall, excellent!...
