Garage&Co Saint Grégoire — Restaurant in Rennes

Well what can I say.... I have given my experience a 1 star because unfortunately there was no option for a 0 star. We arrived to find it fairly quiet and we got a table quickly. However we had to wait 10 minutes for 1 menu between 2 of us when other tables were getting 1 each. The staff were not busy and standing around, so why it took 10 mins for a menu to arrive was baffling. Once we finally got the menu and ordered our food arrived fairly promptly, however we both ordered the baked camembert which is one of our favourites and have had many times at other establishments. Only to find the camembert completely cold and solid (apart from the outer layer which was runny). We then tried to get the attention of a waitress. When we did, she was polite and took it away and a few mins later our exact same plates reappeared with the same camembert that had been nuked severely in the microwave. After a few mins eating the camembert it became very hard to eat because it had been, then, overcooked. Whilst eating we could plainly see the waitresses talking and looking at us, making us feel very uncomfortable. I ate mine because I was hungry but my friend left a lot of hers. When they eventually came to clear our plates we asked for a dessert menu. But unfortunately after 5 mins of waiting we gave up as we felt we were being ignored on purpose, and left. When asked if everything was OK I said no but got no apology. We couldn't wait to leave. Terrible food and the service was shocking. I am astounded how this establishment has 4.8/5. This was our first time at this restaurant. We waited over 10 minutes for a menu, why? when we arrived there were only a handful of customers, when it arrived, we had to share, whereas other customers had one each 🙄. I had a cup of tea and the water was tepid. Our meal was very poor, we had baked Camembert, which was not baked, so once we managed to attract a member of staff (she was polite) as we were being ignored, it went back to the kitchen. When our meal was returned, it was a little better, but no way was it worth the money. It took a long time for our plates to be removed., when they were, we were asked if we wanted dessert and due to the length of time waiting for the dessert menu, we decided to leave. Cliente régulière depuis 2020, je suis extrêmement déçue de ma dernière expérience. L’accueil a été absolument déplorable et humiliant. Une serveuse, très désagréable, nous a interdit de nous asseoir avant même de commander. Elle nous a ordonné de régler immédiatement et au comptoir, nous obligeant à commander debout à trois personnes. Nous avons dû demander les cartes puisqu’aucune ne nous avait été donnée. Cette prétendue « nouvelle règle » n’était appliquée qu’à nous : en observant attentivement, tous les autres clients s’installaient d’abord, commandaient ensuite et réglaient à la fin.

Le service a continué sur la même lancée : boissons servies sans pailles, gaufres servies sans couverts, que nous avons dû réclamer. À cela s’ajoute une autre serveuse occupée à éplucher des pommes de terre avec de grosses casseroles posées directement sur les tables des clients : inacceptable dans un établissement qui se veut accueillant.

Quelle énorme déception de voir un lieu où j’avais plaisir à revenir depuis des années sombrer dans un tel manque de professionnalisme et de respect envers...
