What a lovely place.

Whether you are a local looking for inspiration or a visitor wonder-gazing, this is the right place for you. Be surprised by aromatic Black Garlic Ramen, the Duck Tataki, the Panko Salmon Roll (very generous serving), or by the beautiful signature cocktails made with fresh ingredients. Personally I’d recommend the Matcha and Gin or the refreshing Kyoki.

Our orders came out in time, staff was very friendly and professional. Please book in advance as place is packed every night.

The homemade wasabi mayonnaise is to die for. Additionally, their take on the traditional eggs and mayo (French staple) has a potent flavor leaving you asking for more.

What a great experience we had at Mizu, we were pleasantly surprised by the innovative menu and strong care for food service.

The best of French hospitality applied to innovative contemporary Japanese cuisine.

Ps: don’t miss out on the Black Sesame Cheesecake, my god, the toastiness from the sesame alongside the creamy tartness from the cheese, you have to have it.

Please come to Rouen and visit Mizu, you’ll be...

Service was super slow. We were the first customer but didn’t get our Ramen after one hour. They explained it’s because we didn’t finish our side dishes. But 1) a Ramen restaurant is usually a fast food restaurant (as in Japen), it is NOT our expectation that food can only be served in order (we have been to other local restaurants where everything were served almost at the same time); 2) the menu didn’t say anything about starter or main dish. It is just different types of food you can order; 3) we made it clear when our last side dish was here that we wanted Ramen as well served, the guy said one minute but we ended up waiting for ages. The lady in charge was just trying to arguing with me and not trying to listen (no service attitude).

Ramen was not awful but also not good, far below expectation, not authentic for sure. If you are looking for true Japanese cuisine, this is not what you are looking for.

Ok, in the end, we get a discount, but it was a very...

When I say this place stands out as one of our best experiences in a 2-month-long European tour, you will find I am not exaggerating. Mizu is one of the best places in Rouen, and a must if you are looking for a spot to eat. I can tell you first hand the Chef is someone I know personally. He is exceptionally dedicated to Japanese culinary history and techniques, and could write volumes on the matter. This is a labor of love. You will be hard pressed to find a more kind and talented kitchen anywhere in France like the fine people here at Mizu.

The plating is immaculate, the flavors; rich, complex, hearty. The staff were some of the most welcoming we have experienced. The atmosphere was fun and laid back, a very hip place to stop by and enjoy some of the very delicate mix drinks with friends.

Hugo, we miss you and can’t wait to return....

We went to Mizu for dinner and we ordered Kyuri (marinated cucumber) & Korean Tamago (marinated eggs) for appetizers and it was too salty we can’t taste other flavors but salt. And for ramen we ordered Buta Bossam Ramen, nothing special for the soup I didn’t taste the pork broth it was just salt and soy sauce but the home made noddle and the pork was delicious. We also had Tori Satay Ramen, im sorry to say this but nothing special with this ramen. The soup was blend and taste weird at the same time. Not a good combination. And for the price was too expensive for what it is. As a ramen lovers I’m kinda disappointed with this restaurant, I had high expectations with the 4,8 ⭐️. And the service also slow, we waited 30 minutes for they to took our orders. The place was beautiful and clean.
