Café crème - Restaurant Brunch — Restaurant in Rouen

One of the best brunch’s we ever had! From food, service to atmosphere- absolutely spotless. The lady attended us in English and she was so kind! We ordered our food and coffee and had high expectations, due to the reviews we read before. They can not put into words how amazing food and coffee here are! Our toast was so good, I didn’t even know an avocado toast could be so delicious - it came with some green leaves and the dressing was matching the toast in a way I never had before. It was tasting like brunch, it was delicious. The coffee was also perfect. We had an oat milk capuccino and oat milk mocha - both perfect! To close the brunch we had a pistachio filled croissant and it was also very good (I preferred the toast, that was spectacular). The environment is also very good.. it was like a slow morning, in a busy Monday morning. I was delighted to be there, having that food and enjoying the peace around. The location is handy, close to city centre and main touristic attractions of the town. It was for sure the best brunch we had in Rouen and one of the top we ever had....

My 1st meal during a trip to Normandy, and what a start! Cafe creme is about feel and food. A bright and colorful setting you just enjoy sitting in, and a great brunch offering.

The chicken sandwich was the highlight, as after just one bite, my mind immediately wondered if I should order another to-go to salivate on later (I didn't, but trust me that was a regret!). The avocado toast was a mixed bag - the bacon was delicious but it and the avocado only covered half the toast each, which was a bit odd, and overall the toast was a bit difficult to cut, and missing some sweetness (from a drizzle of honey, or the cream cheese having some fruit or sauce). The drinks were solid (giant marshmallows in cocoa anyone?) though there could have been better interesting juice or non-alcoholic offerings. And the server was nice though seemingly overwhelmed working alone for a packed restaurant, so the service was a bit slow.

All-in-all, the food and setting are good enough to warrant 5 stars, and I would happily come back "when in Rouen"...

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service and Rude Staff !!!!

We were really looking forward to visiting this cafe before leaving the city, but unfortunately had a terrible experience. We were a group of six (five adults and one infant), and upon arrival, the staff refused to seat us, saying we'd have to wait 30 minutes or go somewhere else.

One of us noticed several empty tables and politely asked if we could be seated there. After some insistence, one staff member seemed willing, but another woman possibly the owner abruptly refused in French, with no clear explanation. We then saw them seat other smaller groups while continuing to ignore us. It felt extremely disrespectful and discriminatory.

The staff’s rude attitude and unprofessionalism completely ruined the experience. We left and had to find another place at the last minute. A real disappointment. we wouldn't recommend this cafe to anyone speacily if you...
