Bakery Maison Hector — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

We are visiting for ten days from the UK. We've had the chicken, bacon and cheese roll - delicious - brioche bun - absolutely treat for lunch. Latte was lovely but not filled to top of cup unfortunately 1/3 was foam. The brasserie de lion cake was delicious. I'd say it competes with up market London bakeries and prices so not really that much of a difference. We went in for cakes with my family again this afternoon, so it must be good 👍 take away...

Takeout food was just OK. But the 1 star rating is for the rude staff member that took my order & treated me terribly. I assume he just hates Americans and is an ancestral Vichy traitor. J'ai essayé de parler français du mieux que je pouvais. If you are from the USA, skip this place. I tried to call several times to resolve the issue with the restaurant, but they would not answer the phone. I own a restaurant in NY so I don't post these negative...

First time in Saint-Malo with my family and we wanted to have a quick bite for breakfast before visiting the old town. It is one of the first shops that emerges in our sight once entering through the main gateway of Saint-Vincent. We tried a lovely "Far breton" (kind of custard with vanilla, prunes)... Just delicious! An upstairs room allows visitors to dine-in and use the toilets...
