Bar Restaurant - Le Grill — Restaurant in Sarcelles

There was something that attracted me here but it was a disappointment. The server was very nice and attentive and is the reason for the second star.

I arrived at 7:00 just as they opened and the place was empty. I figured I was early. I ordered a glass of wine but it tasted as if it were on the edge of turning. Now, I'm no wine connoisseur and can't tell the difference between good wine and great wine, but I do know bad wine.

I ordered a steak medium rare (which I later learned should have been ordered 'a point'), potatoes with bacon, and a green salad. The potatoes and salad were fine. The steak, yuck.

WhatnI ended up with was a Bleu steak. Seared on the outside, raw on the inside. When I say raw, I mean cold. I was tired and hungry so I ate around the edges where it had some cook.

It was tough and chewy with what appeared to be connective tissue running through it. My serrated knife could barely get through it. The server came over, noticed I wasn't eating it and asked if I wanted it cooked more. I said yes and it came back a little more cooked but not by much.

So I'll take responsibility for not knowing how to order. At least, I can accept the cultural difference. But bad meat is bad meat no matter where you're from. I travel to Roissy-en-France a few times a year. I won't be going back...

Pretty great food here. Best was the sauce (Roquefort) for the steak and the portions size were huge. I think they could give less frites actually and I’d still be full! Frites a bit over cooked. I like crispy but these were almost on the fence for crunch. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the quality of steak isn’t top for 23 euros. They cooked it perfectly, though. Service was very friendly although if you speak only English, you will hobble through ordering and will be doing a lot of pointing on the chalk board menu lol. Pay when you leave at the bar counter. Non friendly to Americans. Went in around 7 pm, ordered drinks, has a nice patio. While sitting on the patio we see 3 different chalkboards on 3 different walls all with the full food menu. When I tried to order from the bar keep he says "we don't serve food here." Confused I ask about the menu boards, he tells me "lunch only!" No signage to explain this, no interest in offering another drink, he just wanted us to leave. ...
