Amazing professional and courteous service from the maitre d'hôtel who is a credit and an excellent ambassadress for Best Western.
However, extremely disappointing sous chef who wanted to charge an extra €5 for an egg on the steak tartare. This was the first time I have had to pay for this which has always been included in every French restaurant I have visited.
Had it not been for the wonderful welcoming service from Amivi the maitre d'hôtel, I would have walked away.
I was looking forward to having dinner again at l'Esprit Libre and trying some of their typical French dishes but will give it a miss as I dread being asked to pay extra for the gratin on the French onion soup or the tartine de noix accompanying the foie gras.
Had a much better tartare the night before in a local bistrot in the village.
