Bar cocktail Les Iles — Restaurant in Sarlat-la-Canéda

Absolutely horrible place, a real tourist trap. They advertised a breakfast for 10 euros with croissant which was literally displayed at the front and looked appealing. Super long wait to be served, one other couple who got there before us already left. Then there was a tiff with a group as they were unsatisfied and refused to pay. Meanwhile we had received coffe but been waiting already for 25 minutes for the rest of the breakfast. Had to ask 3 times to get our juice. I wanted to cancel our order but then suddenly it appeared - cheap croissants you can make at home warming up in the oven. Definitely not what was displayed. When the waiter heard I was not happy with this he suddenly asked to get paid. I had not even touched the food. I just paid 20 euros and we left without eating. Absolutely abysmal service and food. Don't set foot in this place! While walking off another couple also complained. Never in my life have I been in a café with so many...

You take as you find, and we found the waiter at Bar cocktail Les Iles to be very friendly. So 4 stars from us as the waiter, shortly after bringing our drinks, brought a fresh, clean bowl of water for our dog.

The drinks were a little expensive, but then we were sat in the main square in the centre of Sarlat, for which I am sure you pay a premium.

I had a nice glass of beer whilst my wife had a hot chocolate. That came to €10.50, but to be able to sit in the square, in a really sunny spot is nice.

So based on just having drinks we liked it.

We sat here for several hours. Location is great, service is horrible, prices are highly elevated. Don't stop here.

Waiters take a break every 10 minutes. Drinks are extremely overpriced. While there was only a few People in the bar nobody asked us if we wanted to have a drink for more than 40 minutes. We wanted to order something but the waitress who saw us was on a break and did not even bother to tell one of her colleagues.

To top it all off we were charged €10 too much for a bill that was not ours.
