Logis Hôtel Cristal Hôtel Restaurant — Restaurant in Saumur

Really well located hotel right on the river and free overnight parking. I couldn't have parked any closer to reception. Rooms were OK, nice views over river, and little balcony to sit on.||||The big drawback was the service at the restaurant in the evening. It took me ages to get served as some of the waiters seemed more interested in talking to friends/regulars, and then multiple waitresses and waiters kept asking me the same questions, as if they were confused as to who was serving me. ||||Food was Ok, but after asking for the bill twice and waiting 20 minutes I eventually left and went back to my room. I was intending to pay in the morning before checkout but eventually went back downstairs and found one off my waiters to pay.||||Upon checkout whilst the man at reception was super nice their machines to take my card just wouldn't work, delaying me over 15 mins and in the end they had to write my card details down by and to process at a later date. Nice people welcomed us and served us our dinner, BUT the room was certainly not that of a * hotel as it is advertised - 1) the bed was awful because it jiggles every time my husband moved at all, waking me up all night long so I got little bits of sleep in between the jiggles. 2) windows hadn’t been opened in a century at least 3) cups, coffee, tea, etc was provided but no electric kettle When I asked, they offered a pot of hot water and said the kettles are a fire danger 4)1 of the extra pillows had no cover. 5) the shower head was close to separating from its cord. Good secure bike parking about a block away but I need good sleep and this hotel did...
