Aux Magots — Restaurant in Strasbourg

Came across this charming restaurant whilst staying at the Holiday Inn Express nearby.

Menu offers a number of classics and variations on local cuisine. Nice page of Alsacian specials. Local flavour.

Opted to try the Alsacian burger - beautifully done burger with Munster cheese and ham, between two local potato rosti-type cakes. Wow - this was gorgeous. Served in a lovely and rich sauce as well. Green salad on the side. Definitely one to recommend.

Dessert was a tiramisu - served in a tall glass. Lovely flavours and definitely ‘home made’ as it were. Well done.

Service was pleasant and quick. Restaurant was quiet - not surprisingly perhaps as was quite late on a Monday night.

Large beer and wine list - nothing for me on this occasion though as I’m not drinking this month 😛

Would recommend if in the area and will definitely visit again if I’m back...

Je vous recommande ce restaurant fort agréable😃. Un bel accueil, un cadre sympa et chaleureux. L'ambiance était très calme, pas de brouhaha malgré que le restaurant ait été complet ce soir. C'était très agréable😃🤙. Malgré le peu d'effectif, un peu d'attente, le service était impeccable, réalisé avec le sourire et bienveillance😉😉. Pour la cuisine, je vous recommande les rognons de veau à la moutarde, l'entrecôte, le burger maison et les spatzles. Nous avons apprécié nos plats😋🤘. Le pain brioché du burger maison est excellent. D'ailleurs, je remercie le chef pour avoir bien voulu nous faire le 2ème burger maison sans légumes, c'est cool👍🤙. Le menu enfant avec un prix abordable et le plat "filet de poulet+frite" proposé dans ce menu était très bon. Les spatzles sont très bon. L'entrecôte et les rognons de veau a la moutarde sont excellents. Malheureusement, je n'ai pas pris de photo car nous avions très faim et les plats était bon😋😋 rien qu'à les voir. Despite the language barrier that existed - we don't speak any French, the staff at Aux Magots were so friendly and helpful and accommodating!
