My friends and I arrived after a very long night of traveling to the Hotel very early in the morning. We wanted to leave our baggage and asked the very friendly receptionist for help. He informed us that after one and a half hours there would be a breakfast buffet for 15€ and we decided to wait for it to start. 15 minutes before the start of the buffet there was a shift change and a lady arrived to take over the reception. This blond lady directly kicked us out of the hotel in a very indecent manner. Calling us "these kinds of peoples" because we were traveling with backpacks. After kindly asking her to lower her temper she threatened to call the police. Still wondering what the felony would have been.... . If you're looking for a nice place maybe avoid this one.
Answer to the Comment by the Hotel Manager:
Dear Claire,
please let me correct a few details and re-clarify the situation.
Yes, us 4 arrived around 5am very early in the morning. Our intentions were to find a place to have food and/or leave our luggage in order to being able to do so. Your night receptionist informed us about the shift change and the possibility to have a 15€ breakfast buffet at 06:45am. He further told us that after the shift change we could talk to someone as he was new to the job and therefore not sure whether leaving our luggage would be allowed. We decided to wait in the lobby for the breakfast as it was cold outside at 5am. We were very quiet and did not abuse of any service or make/leave any trash. We basically sat in the lobby waiting for you. We enjoyed it insofar that we were not in the cold - your sofa was nice but after 9 hours of traveling/sitting in transportation not our motivation to stay, the food was. Next time we could sit in our camping chairs and heat us up with our sleeping bags right outside until we are allowed to eat.
You arrived between 06:30-06:45 and NOT after the breakfast had, as according to our knowledge, begun. You entered the lobby, looked at us in disgust, asked your colleague what was going on and when you found out you approached us with "Are you clients". I answered: "No sorry we are just waiting...", you interrupted: "Well then you have to leave immediately" while making gestures that one would only use to scare off animals. Then you turned around leaving no space for us to engage in a conversation or explain our situation. I then asked: "Couldn't you have said that a little bit nicer", and your answer was literally: "I am just starting my working shift now. I can't be nice at this moment" - what an attitude coming from an hotel...
Read moreWe arrived at 4am in a rainy day with my mom and we wanted to leave our bags in Hotel until the check in time and book the room. As we arrived, the night shift recepcionist has opened the door in a very annoyed and unpolite way, after 5 min he had seen and tried to send away. As we wanted to book the room, he told us that it was not possible to leave the two small bags till at least noon and he still unpolite as I told him that it was not possible for a 4stars hotel to treat the guests like that. He started then to ask to leave the hotel (my mom was already on the way because he was so unpolite and rude) and started to mock at me in a RACIST and rude way moving the hand and saying “buonanoootte” because I was, as italian, moving my hands even though I was speaking french the whole time. As I was leaving telling him it was unbelievable such behaviour, he still mocked at me as italian and showed me that he had the headphones and so he was not caring at all. It is unbelievable and unacceptable such behaviour. I sent an Email to the Hotel and I’m waiting for an answer. It is very sad for the city that the first image two tourists in a good mood receive from Strasbourg, is this. it is just unacceptable.
We went afterwards to Hotel de l’Europe by HappyCulture and they took the baggages, made us feel at home and were super polite and friendly. It was even cheaper and better placed! They changed completely our mood after such a...
Read moreAfter completion of a project with Universal, I decided to go to Strasburg for a relaxing weekend to decompress. Arriving one morning at Diana Dauphin, we were greeted in the hotel reception by a constipated, spiteful possum of a man, who proceeded to make me feel as though I were lower then trash, and dirtying his establishment simply by setting foot inside. I am now staying at the sheik and extremely polite Les Haras just down the street, whose reception actually comprehends that when one is wearing both dirty Converse sneakers, and Tom Ford perfume, they are most likely not a delinquint. A leather jacket does not a criminal make.
Management, please do address the horrid behavior of your employee. I do not by any means abide a 4 star establishment who cannot distinguish between a tired and unkempt production manager at the end of a long project, and a homeless bum. Next time I will be sure to get my hair straightened before stepping inside the doors of the overly pretentious Hotel Diana Dauphiné.
Or rather, I will take my business elsewhere, and recommend others do the same.
Félicitations, Monsieur Possum, for the single worst four-star experience of my life. Bravo. You do the fine establishment of French...
