I went for lunch and had the main + dessert courses (rack of piglet and floating island) for 27 euro. A good deal for a restaurant on the Michelin guide’s bib gourmand list.
First off, they speak English which is helpful. The food was good but the service was subpar. The waiter was judgmental about the fact that I didn’t order an alcoholic drink and didn’t know that there’s a coffee/tea course after dessert (I looked it up later and found out that way). He didn’t say anything, but they never do. It was quite apparent on his face what he thought of me.
I didn’t feel particularly welcome and the waiter treated me differently from the other customers (mostly French + one other tourist) in demeanor and engagement. He was chatting up all of the other customers and was engaging them in banter. But in my case, he asked me one question about where I was from, gave a fake smile and left. It felt like I shouldn’t be there.

Als Hauptspeise wurde frisch gefangener Weißfisch serviert, begleitet von feinem Kartoffelpüree und einer kleinen Portion Kürbisauflauf. Auch dieses Gericht war ein wahrer Genuss. Zum Abschluss rundete ein Pavlova mit frischen Früchten das Mahl perfekt ab – eine klare Empfehlung. Die Küche war zwar anspruchsvoll, aber dennoch bodenständig, was mir besonders gefiel. Insgesamt handelt es sich um ein kleines und hervorragendes Restaurant, das ich wärmstens weiterempfehlen kann.
English: After learning about this small yet exquisite restaurant through a Michelin guide recommendation, we decided to have dinner there. It was my first time trying snails, and the preparation with chanterelles was exceptionally tasty. For the main course, they served freshly caught whitefish, accompanied by smooth mashed potatoes and a small portion of pumpkin casserole. This dish was also a delight. To conclude the meal, a Pavlova with fresh fruits provided the perfect finish – a clear recommendation. The cuisine was sophisticated, yet grounded, which I particularly appreciated. Overall, it's a small and outstanding restaurant that I highly recommend.

C'était la première fois que je goûtais des escargots, et leur préparation avec des girolles était exceptionnellement savoureuse. En plat principal, nous avons dégusté du poisson blanc fraîchement pêché, accompagné d'une purée de pommes de terre onctueuse et d'une petite portion de gratin de potiron. Read moreI took the lunch menu and want to mention I am not a picky eater. The starter was minimalist (like 3 cm on 3 cm) and we do not really have the same definition of a ceviche. It was more of a tartare... The pork curry was a nightmare. Not a single one of the pork piece was without fat and nerves. I still cannot get the awful sensation away an hour later. The wine glasses are pricey but good. I do not understand the Google rate. We are living in Strasbourg and will never come there again, which is a pity because we live very close.
