Where do I begin…
After over 5 weeks of back and forth with the hotel concierge on email, we thought we’d booked a table for our family. At check in I made sure everything was booked correctly with concierge and they added notes to the booking to ensure things went smoothly. On arrival to the restaurant we were greeted and advised that we were sitting on two separate tables. This was not suitable with 3 children under 4. Eventually after going back and forth, and the manager saying ‘it’s not possible’ we finally had our table for 8!
We were greeted by our waitress Aurelle, who took the time to listen to our order. Our wine order arrived but our water and remaining drinks arrived over 30 minutes later, these sat on the side table in our view. Eventually I asked a staff member if I could get them myself as we were all thirsty. The gentleman standing around couldn’t give them to us because he was supporting the characters and not involved in the restaurant. So we continued to wait for these. Only just arriving before our aperitif.
By now we had been in the restaurant well over an hour with 3 very hungry children. Our starters finally arrived, the soup was stone cold and we sent this back to be warmed. Everything else was ok, pretty tasteless but ok.
Onto the mains, the beef was chewy and tasteless. The potatoes were part boiled and cold. In fact, the beef was near inedible so we didn’t eat much of this. No one asked why when collecting our plates. When the staff member returned again to clear the rest, I informed him that the beef was chewy and hard, he didn’t seem concerned and didn’t respond to me, but cleared the plates and walked away.
After some time, our desserts arrived. They again were tasteless. The only dessert worth having was the children’s coggsworth.
We received our bill near immediately with our petit fours. It was evident they were getting ready for the next table on the conveyor belt and needed us out of there.
My mother is allergic to most things and has a fear of eating some foods especially as they can make her very unwell. The charge for a slice of plain dry chicken, half a carrot and two half boiled potatoes was €45. The manager felt this was a good deal, and explained we were lucky to have this as everything should be a set menu. If you have allergies, do not go here, they do not care.
Once reading the bill we noticed they had charged us in full for our 2 year old who didn’t touch her food because it had taken so long she’d fallen asleep. We were under the impression that children under 3 could eat without extra supplements. Be aware, if you order any food for a child under 3, they will charge you in full. The manager came back over, as by now we were really not happy. He explained that they would take the €60 for the child’s meal off the bill. This took some time and we noticed that Aurelle was crying, as I imagine she had been told off by the manager. Yet most of what happened was nothing to do with her.
Moral of this terrible experience is don’t waste €120 on a meal that is near inedible. The princesses were mediocre and I would say you see them lots more whilst staying at the hotel so it was nothing special for them to pop over to the table for a few minutes.
For a luxury hotel, I’m flabbergasted by the arrogance of the staff members and management in this restaurant.
I really hope our waitress was ok, and that her team support her better in future. We certainly will not be returning to this awful restaurant and hope we can encourage others to avoid this too. Maybe they will learn from yet another bad experience (read the reviews to see others) but I...
Read moreAvoid this restaurant at ALL costs. I visited in March 2024 and stated that I had a gluten allergy before being seated. They served me gluten TWICE. They have absolutely no idea on the seriousness of allergens and quite frankly, they don't care.
Once I had eaten the gluten cake, I asked the waiter to double check as it tasted like gluten. That's when the manager confirmed it was gluten, quickly a manager comes out, Philippe who says that the cake isn't gluten and gaslights me into telling me 3 weeks ago it was gluten and now it's not and that's why the chef said it was! Little did he know I was in a gluten free Disneyland Paris group who had posted the allergen book from 3 weeks ago and also from 4 weeks ago and it still was marked as no gluten.... the allergen books can't be trusted neither can the staff. Despicable. Whilst I was panicking about what to believe, I could have gone into anaphylactic shock but Philippe cared more about his job than my safety and told me to call for an ambulance if I feel sick, incase I have a cold or something. Also Philippe was the most unprofessional person I've ever encountered. The defensiveness and demeanour he instantly had was absolutely flabbergasting.
We complained at the restaurant and when we got home, I had a bad reaction to the gluten and Disneyland Paris Guest Relations, denied it having gluten despite all the evidence I had. Including video and picture evidence of this ordeal.
When I went back in August to check the allergen folder, of course the dish is now miraculously marked as having gluten. Philippe lied and risked my life and all the staff there that night were complicit with this and risked someone's life. If you are choking, I can only assume they won't attempt the Heimlich manoeuvre considering the danger they willingly put me in.
After 8 months of emotional distress, the Disneyland Paris Hotels Vice President CONFIRMED the dish I ate had gluten all along and the allergy book was ONLY changed because of my incident.
Be warned!!
Also on a side note, the food was very mediocre, the staff have no idea what they're doing. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant even if you didn't have an allergy. Especially for the grand price of €120pp. A Big...
Read moreWe were staying at the Cheyenne hotel, but had read that if there were any tables available on the day, that guests who weren't staying at the Disneyland Hotel would be able to reserve a table. The wonderful maître d', Sandrine made our dreams a reality by allocating the last available table to us that evening. We were shown to our table, passing the glass fronted kitchen so we could see our food being prepared and we were located in the ballroom. Everything about this restaurant was exquisite, the settings, the attention to detail, the welcome etc. Our wine waiter Loic was super attentive and a lovely, interesting man. Our waitress Clara was absolutely amazing - she was so kind and thorough at explaining everything, she really made our dining experience something we will remember forever. The food was soooooo good! Our 11 year old enjoyed all her food from the children's menu, and the presentation and taste of all items ordered from the adult's menu was definitely chef's kiss. Every one of our plates was scraped clean on each course, it really was all delicious. And then the princesses and princes who took time with each table in their deluxe outfits was just the amazing finishing touch. All were super attentive with our daughter, making her feel like a princess too. This is a night we will never forget in our family, and I'm so grateful to have these memories. It was pricey by the way (just in case you haven't seen the prices), but if you can stretch the budget then I 100% recommend this - it...
