The lobby and other common areas are pretty. Rooms not so much. The food we had for breakfast was good enough.
First thing of note: the building is shaped like an U and the only point of access is the middle. Our room was on one extremity so we had to waaaaalk a corridor so long I felt I was trapped in the Twilight Zone. How to fix it? Open points of entrance/exit in the edges of the building. I looked for them, couldn't find them. I asked, they don't exist. Now, it's just a few more steps, ok? Not the end of the world. Still, at the end of the day, it was a pain. I imagine with kids it would be worse.
Next, the room. Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures, the walls are printed plastic. The point is that is has a nautical theme, but it felt more kindergarten. Perhaps it's a matter of taste, but... now you know.
Regarding our room in particular, there were small damages in the bathroom door, toilet seat and furniture. There were also some paint drips in the bathroom. It's fine, we only wanted the room to sleep, but given this is not the cheapest Disneyland hotel, you should be aware of these things. You might end up in a room with a plastic feel and severely used looks.
My real problem, the thing that was actually a problem, was the AC. It was cold and I couldn't adjust it or turn it off. I went to the reception and made them aware of the damages in the room (again, not affected by it, just to inform) and they said they'd send someone to fix them. Not the furniture, obviously. I don't remember, it was something about the toilet seat that was broken, and something in the shower door that wasn't working. Anyway, they never fixed anything.
Regarding the AC, which was the actual problem, I was told that "to turn your AC off, we have to turn off the entire floor" (or entire section or entire building, I don't remember the exact words, it was just very dramatic and along those lines). Now, that's just weird. That's a weird AC system. No solution was provided. Just suck it up. If you have this issue and your room, like mine, has the AC in the bathroom, just shove a towel under the door. Next time you go to the bathroom, it'll feel like entering a walking fridge, but the room will be much better and not like there's a draft from the artic.
Now, I'm fine, I survived. Didn't even bother to write the feedback for 2 years (I was revisiting photos today and decided to write). BUT, is this the kind of experience you want to have when you pay however much you're thinking of paying for this hotel?
Me? Next time I go to Disneyland Paris I want to try the Sequoia. I don't expect it to be the prettiest, but the room is for sleeping anyway and it can't be worse than this. Plus location should be closer to the parks if I'm not mistaken.
I'm giving 1 star to the bedrooms, because they are definitely misleading. They do not match the photos, either because things are worn out or because they're actually different when you get there (the walls may seem like wood until you get there and it's actually plastic). I have stayed at worse places, but not for this price. For this price it's clearly bad.
Service gets two stars because the person who received us was nice. However the people who received me when I had issues, and trust me, my approach is not "battle mode", it's always "it might be my fault, help me out, please". They seemed cold, disinterested and didn't help at all.
Location is pretty. However, if I'm gonna accept a nasty room because "a room is for sleeping", then I'm gonna be practical about its other aspects too and there are hotels with more practical value in terms of...
Read moreOur experience was pretty bad. The hotel is full of staff that is not giving any service, don't know if this is the way this hotel is conceived, if that's the case, you shouldn't call yourself hotel Our room aircon was broken we notice it at night after several calls they tell you you have to change room and no help is offered, with suitcases and 3 years old kid at 00.45 am The first room was assigned without being checked i addressed this to the person on the phone, but the second room assigned was the same, we have 3 bottles of water on the first one, only 1 on the second, not enough towels... Again nobody seems to be bother when you complaint, why they have to checked the second room? (NO SERVICE) The person that brings the keys didn't offer any help either, just drop and go! (NO SERVICE) I ask to the person that i wanted to talk to a manager next day. Nobody seem interested about it, we didn't even receive a basic apology. You have to go up in an elevator to go down again in another old service elevator that has constant queue. Seems that they put everyone that has stroller or difficulties to take the stairs on the first floor (NO SERVICE), understanding that all needed is in the same floor If you ask for something in the restaurant you will be directed by gestures like traffic police, nobody is able to bring you a coffee or to help you with your food (NO SERVICE). You will see only a finger pointing where the things are, where you have to go or what you have to do. I got scolded by a server that didn't allow me to put a thin toast of country bread in the toaster. The size of it, is less than half of the regular toast bread. Even if i explain him that it will never get stuck on it, he keeps insisting like a robot, NO , NO , NO... i toasted it...and... surprised! It didn’t get stucked and it work The best comes when you order a taxi, be aware that if you want a real taxi, with TAXIMETER (taxi fare calculator) you will have to be specific. Seems that is not the same for concierge here We get book a private van (not a taxi) that cost us quite more expensive than a regular taxi, that can't go through the taxi lines and that can't drop you in the taxi area of the airport... Meaning: Worse service for more expensive price. The driver spend the whole trip on the phone negotiating rates, saying several times to the callers that he was the only one putting the price, nobody else! Apparently a gentleman that complaint for a ride of 30 Euro get a 10 euro rebate, LES PRIX AU PIF! Prices to the choice of the driver! Yes, they told me the price before, but as i order a TAXI, i though this was an estimation not a fixed price, and if you tell me that this is a taxi service from the hotel, would love to understand why he can't drive through fast taxi lines and drop us with all the suitcases and stroller in the parking far from the airport entry??? As we have to go to airport, we couldn't do anything else than take it, having in mind that we discover all those things during the ride I'm not going to make any guesses but I'll leave it to the management team of this “hotel” (if there is any available) to guess what's going on in their concierge team Wasted money and time, this place is far from being a...
Read moreMy wife, 8 year old daughter and I stayed at the Newport Bay Hotel for our trip to Disneyland Paris for three nights in April 2025. The Newport Bay Hotel is lovely inside and we found the staff to be friendly, helpful and accommodating. One member of staff in particular, Eduardo, was in charge of checking us into our room and he was exceptional. Our check in was delayed by 90 min; it was a bit of an inconvenience but we were not annoyed or anything as the hotel was very busy when we arrived. However, Eduardo felt bad for our delay and provided us with two family fast passes for any 2 rides we wanted. This was such a nice touch and appreciated as it ended up saving us a minimum of three hours waiting time in the park. The hotel lobby is very warm and the room was also warm. We expected this based on reviews we had read before we arrived. I had requested that a fan be placed into our room for our arrival and the hotel did this no problem. The fans that the hotel provide are not very good, however; they are those standing column fans that hardly blow any air out. We ended up getting two of them for the room which only helped with the temperature a little. We discovered it is policy in France that air conditioning isn’t to be turned on until the summer. I understand this from an environmental protection viewpoint but it does make staying in the rooms somewhat uncomfortable. The room itself was nice and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom and shower were fine and a safe is provided in the room. We were disappointed that DisneyPlus was not available on the room TV as we could have sworn that all Disney hotels have this as a perk. Breakfast in the Newport is excellent with an all you can eat buffet. We thankfully never had to rely or us the hotel shuttle bus to the park as we have read that they are filled with rude people climbing over each other to get into the bus. The Newport Bay is literally a 5 min walk from Disney Village where the shops and eating establishments are; then from the Village it is a 3 min walk to the park entrances. Hotel is based in a quiet area and the walk takes you beside an artificial lake which is rather scenic, especially in the morning time. Security at the hotel is very good and the hotel has its own security checkpoint before you enter the Village.
Newport has character meet and greets at two time periods each afternoon/evening. This was brilliant and we were lucky to meet Mickey on the first day and then Donald and Goofy on other days. The hotel staff have the character greets well organised and you really don’t have to wait long to meet the characters.
All in all we loved our DisneyLand Paris experience and we are currently missing it. Id have no problem staying in the Newport Bay Hotel again. Honestly, I would give this hotel 5/5 if it wasnt for the level of heat in the...
