Big Thunder Mountain is one of the best Mine Train Rollercoasters I've ever been on. The first time I've been on it was at The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort Florida in August in 1992 when I was 6 years old 27 years ago. The first time I went on Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris was in May 1997 22 years ago. Out of the other 3 Big Thunder Mountains in Anaheim, Orlando and Tokyo, the Big Thunder Mountain in Paris is the best one of the 4 on the list. You start off in the Station and then your train heads into the tunnel and under the round river surrounding Thunder Mountain and then afterwards this is where the real fun begins. There are 3 phases of the ride including 3 chain lifts to pull the train up. On the third chain lift, you see the gunpowder fuse heading to the TNT and detonating while going up the chain lift. In the 3rd phase of the ride, you turn sharply to the left and then enter back into the tunnel in pitch black just like the first one when setting off from the station. Whilst in tunnel, you go under the round river and arrive back climbing out of the tunnel with the brakes and chain lift to lift you up from the tunnel you emerged from. Afterwards, you make your way back into the station. This Mine Train Rollercoaster is a pure classic and highly recommended for all friends and family and can get very busy in the queues. If you get there early enough after the park opens at 10am, you'll only have to wait for 20 minutes in the queue but later on, the queue builds up to a waiting time to 80 or 85 Minutes (1hr 20 minutes or 1hr 25 minutes) which is a long time unless you get a fastpass ticket so it will reduce the waiting time by half on your timed ticket you get from the fastpass ticket machine. A True Classic Rollercoaster and I strongly recommend it with your friends and family...

Big Thunder Mountain: the Wildest Ride in the West
Climb steep heights and dive below raging waterfalls in this family-friendly, rattling race in a speeding mine cart.
In Big Thunder Mountain you board a mysterious train deep in the heart of a legendary mountain for a thrilling journey of dips and sharp turns beneath Rivers of the Far West and around a ghostly mining town.
Fire in the Hole! As you plummet through the darkness along a dynamite-littered track, a huge explosion shakes the cavern. But the train doesn't slow up, hurtling you onwards amid the rumbling sounds of a falling mineshaft. Bats swoop. The tracks shake. A river rages above. Will you make it out...
Read moreI have been to Disneyland twice with different groups and each time we agreed that this is one of the most beautiful and funny attractions. The theme is very well implemented, you can see how much effort was put into it and the ride is not so scary but also not boring.
We have been at this attraction around 7 times as it was huge fun and we enjoyed it. We were lucky as people started preparing for the parade to catch 10-5min queues which is almost nothing as during the day the shortest queue is usually around 40min.
So if you saw the show or are okay with staying further from the castle, one tip is to ride this attraction later around 22:30 when there are fewer people, and if you ride it during the show you will have a view of the...
