Best meal I’ve had in Toulouse!

Went here on the recommendation of clients that I work with in Toulouse, and they got some gold stars for this recco!

Two colleagues and I came for dinner and ordered a dish each to share, all as recommended by the lovely waitstaff.

We ordered three appetizers: mussels, which were fantastic; pea soup, which caused people to gasp it was so yummy; and a mushroom flatbread that was frankly one of the most delicious thing I’ve eaten in my life.

Then we had three mains: a nice fish dish, a crazy good beef dish and a pork dish. All delicious, the fish and pork being good but less mind blowing than the beef.

We then ordered four desserts between us: a chocolate cake, a banoffee pie, a chocolate cup and a raspberry tart. Just get the banoffee and the chocolate cake—they were memorable even after the two bottles of wine.

Speaking of which, the local wine pairings were affordable and delicious, the Armagnac was served out of enormous bottles with just enough drama, and tasted as warming as it should, and by peer pressure from our neighbors, the creme de menthe went down a treat too!

Jour de la qualité de service,

Alléchés par la carte et ne voyant pas venir de serveur au bout de longues minutes, nous décidons de nous installer à une table. La terrasse qui contient une dizaine de table et quasi vide, seule une table est occupée par deux femmes. Arrive la serveuse qui nous annonce que tout est réservé, désolé hein !

Ma femme fait quelques pas et décide d'en avoir le cœur net, elle appelle le restaurant pour savoir si c'est possible de réserver une table. Et là miracle, ce qui n'était pas possible quelques minutes plus tôt, l'est.

Ma femme demande à la personne au téléphone de sortir du restaurant, elle demande à la serveuse qui sort, étonnée "Vous avez une table de libre maintenant ? "

La serveuse, toujours au top, nous informe qu'une table vient d'être annulée. Quelle heureuse coïncidence ! Et devant la colère de ma femme, elle nous invite à faire preuve de savoir vivre, nous nous sommes installés à une table sans attendre d'être placé par le personnel. A ce jour je ne sais pas ce qui a déclenché ce refus de vente : nos vêtements ? nos tètes de métèques ? notre accent parisien ?

Being already many times in Toulouse I discovered this pearl only recently. Spend a lovely evening, nice restaurant. Confy atmosphere, nice selection of starters, main and dessert.
