Awful experience. Stopped in for a quick refreshment before catching a train. Explained at the outset that we were rushing a bit. Repeated this while ordering, and then requested check when drinks arrived. No check. Asked again. Instead of bringing bill, server began very slowly and deliberately washing tables. We sent the rest of our party away to catch the train. Waited a few more minutes then, out of time, put money down and walked out and only then did we get any reaction. The first time in many many trips that I have encountered the stereotypical rude cafe service. Not to mention the cafe is across the street from the train station. I can’t imagine they are strangers to clients who are rushing for a train....
Read moreAfter a wonderful morning and early afternoon tour of the Versailles Palace last Sunday (31 March), we had the pleasure of dining at Au Duc de Bretagne. Patrick took excellent care of us and food/drinks were excellent. My brother and his wife were also traveling with us and we both decided to share an Entree because the portions were generous and we wanted to save room for dessert!! This lovely restaurant is located just a quick 5 minute walk from the Palace and it's easy to pick up an Uber outside after you dine.
