Where do I start. The location was very good for visiting the palace. There are quite a few local restaurants but the good ones take some looking for. The staff are friendly and the room was clean. This is where the positive comments end. Our room looked lovely on the web site the reality was more akin to student accommodation and even a student would have turned their noses up. The utensils we were left to cook with were abysmal. A large wooden fork a peeler a cork screw and a random selection of forks and two knives . I frying pan I saucepan a two ring hob and a microwave . If you plane to cook some meals to save money it had better be spaghetti Bolognese and nothing more as the facilities do not lend themselves to anything more interesting. The sink was small no plug or bowl to wash up in. The kitchen was more an alcove incorporating a small cupboard and sink. The room was very tatty expanding foam on top of skirting to hide a hole where the pipes came out ,hole in sink bathroom sink which then leaked underneath. badly painted door he had just painted the edge and not the middle. The staff apologised for the deception on the web site.. We stayed two nights but had we not paid upfront we would have got back in the car having seen the room and gone somewhere else. Sleeping in the car would have been preferable if my husband hadn't just had a hip replacement. The beds are small and very very uncomfortable. If you can afford to go somewhere else and avoid the disappointment that we experienced. We had planned to visit Versailles for some years but this experience really took the shine...

Adequate hotel mired by the fact that the owners were having a few days holiday on the day we checked out. This meant they were unable to store our luggage. As a result we had to get up earlier than planned and head back to Paris (from where we had come the night before our stay) to store our luggage as the Palace of Versailles has no such facility nor were there luggage storage options in Versailles on the day itself. This was not only exhausting but cost us money in travel and storage fee, and meant we were tired for the rest of the day. The whole point of staying close to the Palace was so we could get up later. What really annoyed me though was the fact that this lack of luggage storage was only communicated a few weeks before our stay which made it too expensive to cancel and book another hotel when clearly a prearranged holiday would have been known by the hotel further in advance. This lack of storage should have been communicated at the time of booking (2/3 months before we arrived) as we would have certainly booked elsewhere, or if this hotel really cared for its guests favour it would have surely had a transition day whereby they store the luggage of guests from the evening before but do not check in new guests thereby not...

We were received by the super friendly and helpful owners/couple who run the hotel as a team. Felt like home at once ☺️
The (basic) room we had rented four nights was spotless clean and complete, the bed slept good.
The breakfast is optional (commercially) but should be enjoyed at least once: here also you experience the love and care that is put into it. Fresh baked bread, home made marmelade (everyday another one) and lots of other choices. Above all, you are being served again very friendly and have a good start of the day.
Since Versailles is just ¾ of an hour by train from Paris, and much more a quiet and friendly place, we would never book a hotel downtown Paris anymore... The rail station is only a five minutes walk from the hotel, just like the castle of Versailles by the way... For parking we booked a spot in the Cathedral parking garage. The payment system didn't work flawless but their service was good. Keep your reservation number at hand 😉
We know where we are going...
