We came here 6:00 with a booking for 8:00 because we finished our Versailles palace tour way earlier than we planned. There were no guests inside, and we were like, ok we might need to wait outside for it to open. But they welcomed us and gave us water quickly. We sat down, looking at the menu, oh boy there were so many choices of crepes and galettes to choose from! We only have three people here, so we opt for 2 galettes and 1 crepe. One thing I need to nitpick here is that the waiter served all three dishes together and the crepe has an ice cream on it. So we needed to eat the ice cream before the galettes. Talking about the galettes, the ham and cheese one was just your classic, mediocre galette but the other one ( the blue cheese, onion and lettuce one) was so good. Yes I personally ADORE blue cheese but it’s just so surprisingly delicious with caramelised onions and fresh lettuce. The one thing going on my mind while I ate this was like, this is gotta be a solid five stars. The crepe with homemade toffee sauce, apple paste and the (obviously) eaten ice cream was a masterpiece itself. The toffee sauce was so good and the ‘toffeeness’ of it was just right. Overall, the only thing I want to complain is that I can’t give six stars. That’s how much I adore this restaurant. Definitely will come if I...
Read moreWe were disappointed with our dishes and service here...not sure what was going on, but our food looked and tasted hastily prepared.
We got two savory crepe dishes, La Raclette and the La Caprese. My dish was the La Caprese, which I did think the flavors blended well together which is the reason I'm giving three stars. If you like cheese you'll enjoy this dish, otherwise it is best to avoid due to the amount of cheese.
The La Raclette is what my boyfriend ordered. It consisted of crepe and cheese, with a piece of rolled ham, one very thin sliver of sausage, cold potatoes, and wilted spring mix lettuce. The server did bring out extra sausage when he pointed out the small portion of meat. However he was unable to finish the dish due to the lack in quality.
We decided to give a desert crepe a try, and ordered La Tatin. The Crepe once again looked hastily made, undercooked, with only a small portion of apples in the center. It did not match the quality to the desert crepes others had ordered around us which added to our disappointment.
What really bothered me, is that our waiter asked for a tip when he brought our check.
Wish we skipped dinner and just went to the...
Read moreMy first visit to La Place after Versailles. The food was good. We were told only tables outside were available since we did not have a reservation. We decided to take a table outside as we were late for lunch and had to catch a train back to Paris. Surprisingly, another group young tourist girls came and was offered a table inside. We asked if a table inside was available, we would love to move in. We ordered a set of savoury and sweet crepe plus apple cider. We were served for savoury and were waiting for sweet awhile. We decided to cancel as we would be traveling back to Paris. We went to use a restroom inside the restaurant before we left and discovered there were 5-6 tables empty. This was very disappointing the way they treated tourists. The guy who dealt with us initially was rather rude, careless and double standard in my opinion. We were in many restaurants in Paris which offered way better service. When we paid, we were asked to pay for additional tip despite service charges were built into the price. I would not come back to this restaurant for the reasons of poor service and the way we...
